Emperor Andreus of Pantocratoria

His Most Catholic and Imperial Majesty Emperor Andreus is the son of the Emperor Isaac V Capet and Empress Isabelle de Montmanuel, and the presently reigning monarch of Pantocratoria. He is a widower; his late wife the Empress Theodora Pelopenies died in 2001. He has five children, Prince Andreus Capet, Prince Constantine Capet, Princess Anna Capet, Princess Theodora Capet, and Princess Zoë Capet, a younger brother Prince Basil Capet, and a younger sister Princess Irene Capet.

Emperor Andreus is well known for his firm support of the divine right of monarchs, and his opposition to constitutional restraints thereupon. He is, however, a reformer, and the past few years of his reign have seen the gradual democraticisation of the Pantocratorian Imperial Parliament, to which he leaves much of the day to day governing of the nation. He is no puppet or figurehead monarch, but tends away from absolutism.

He is well liked by his subjects, especially the French speaking city dwellers of the mainland, but most who deal with him personally say that the public image is quite different from the real man behind it. He is devoted to his eldest daughter, but often seems indifferent at best towards Princess Theodora, and his relationship with his heir apparent, the Despot of New Constantinople, is consistent with the strained traditions of his Imperial House (the House of Bourbon-Comnenus-Palaeologus). He is rigidly formal, and loyal to his friends and allies. His temper is easily provoked by those from whom he expects better. His manners are impeccable. He may not be the amicable emperor of the popular imagination, but once one is used to him, he is not overly difficult or unpleasant to deal with.
