The Rather Random States of Ashibot is a massive, socially progressive nation, renowned for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 2.536 billion enjoy extensive civil rights and enjoy a level social equality free of the usual accompanying government corruption.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Education, although Social Equality and the Environment are on the agenda. The average income tax rate is 100%. A large private sector is dominated by the Information Technology industry.

High-income earners pay a 100% tax rate, every product goes through extensive safety-testing by the government, the Ashibot Mental Asylum Party have recently won seats in parliament, and space research funding has hit a recent high while several military bases are being closed down. Crime is totally unknown. Ashibot's national animal is the manatee, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the tharni. Ashibot is a member of the Left-Wing Alliance

Geography and Climate

Ashibot lies in the north-west corner of The Golden Hills, with sea to the north and west. This placement unfortunately renders the climate cold, damp and windy, unlike most of the other prevalent nations situated in the region. This only changes for about 4 weeks in the summer when it becomes hot and sunny before returning to its ordinary gloomy weather.

The Flag

Ashibot's flag shows its status as a liberal democratic socialist nation, with the stars representing socialism, the blue background representing democracy and the yellow representing liberalism. The large white star symbolises the people of Ashibot but there is no official meaning for the smaller stars. Theories abound about what they could mean.
