Bartarus

Early History

The Democratic Republic of Bartarus was founded by workers hailing from many right wing nations sick of capitalist bourgosie oppression. The in a wish to govern themselves according to the ideals of Council Communism established a Council consisting of all workers and soldiers of Bartarus. They then took the step of moving rfrom The East Pacific to the region of Greece officially founded the Democratic Republic.

Regions

Bartarus is split into four regions: Northlop Westlop Lop Southlop

The Southlop is a barren wasteland.The capital and most major cities are in the Northlop. The Westlop consists of many small communities of workers. Finally the Lop is one big room. It is the room where the entire populace gather for council sessions. They are over 10 million seats in the Lop.

Government Structure

Bartarus is governed by a High Council consisting of all its citizens.It alone can declare war, make decrees and treaties. The chairman of the council is elected every 6 months by all Council Members. He has the dutyb of chairing the council obviously AND managing day to day administrative matters.

The Chairman cannot handle admin of the entire nation alone. As well as governmental matters which aren't appriopiate for the council. To assist in admin they are two departments. The first is the Department of Health and Welfare. The second is the Department of Education. These two departments have massive budgets. Apart from Social Welfare projects administrative tasks get the second largest ammount of funding granted by the assembly.

Finally the Chairman can appoint two Deputy Chairman.The Deputy Chairman for Internal Affairs and the Deputy Chairman for Foreign Affairs. These appointments must be approved by the council.

Political Make Up

Bartarus has two main ideologies. Marxist Leninism and Social Democracy. 85% of the populace tend to follow the ideology of Marxist Leninism. 10% follow the ideology of Social Democracy. The final 5% are either inactive in politics or part of a regurlaly oppressed minority of capitalists.

The Current chairman and all senior members on the council all follow Marxist Leninism hence why the country is a left wing utopia.

Economy

The economy of Bartarus has never been too good. Foreign Relations

Bartarus has always engaged in foreign relations. It has a alliance with the the Grand Duchy of Manere. It is a UN Member located in The North Pacific endorsing Former English Colony the delegate. It has voted For Freedom of Scientific Research proposed by Jey.
