Founders of Live in a Hole (literal translation: a dip in the ground), The Principality of Briswold exists only to bind together a loose collection of tribal cheese farmers. The people welcome outsiders and have a healthy trading relationship with their cave-dwelling, cabbage-growing neighbours.
Special holidays include Thanksgiving of the Starling, the Cabbage and Kitty Festival, Ratmus and I of the Tiger. These holidays are vigorous, cross-border celebrations of the region's wildlife.
