Live in a hole (literal translation: a dip in the ground) is a rapidly growing region of nations already committed to life underground, or considering such a commitment, or unaware of the desirability of so considering.

Agriculture and dairy products have been the major topics of discussion in the long and glorious history of the region. Member nations are renowned for their output of new legislation, often more frequently than daily. There is a tradition of public diplomatic announcements but it is understood that telegrams are also exchanged.

The region was founded by The Principality of Briswold something over a fortnight ago as of this writing. However, it didn't really take off until The Holy Empire of Serafinowicz from A North Facing Patch of Scree joined them.

Don't be deceived by the financiers or statisticians - a nation's true standing can only be rated by cabbage production, and (more controversially) cabbage consumption.

The glorious and responsible nations of this region include The Holy Empire of Serafinowicz which is renowned for academic excellence and surprisingly regular cabbage harvests. While not the founding nation, The Holy Empire of Serafinowicz enjoys healthy diplomatic dialogue with all members of the region and considers itself the most subterranean.

Other prominent member states are The Republic of Goode-Hunters and The Federation of Insecure Rodents. The latter's ideology is unique in the region, based as it is on the exploitation of the workers and the greed of the ruling classes. The Insecure Rodents play a full part in the region's activities by allowing the citizens of their neighbours to see how much worse things could be, mainly by neglecting governmental responsibility and allowing the worst forms of corporate excess, much to the detriment of international cabbage trade.

The Republic of Goode-Hunters was the first to extend a welcome to our fifth glorious regional nation: The Republic of Bentlavia which seems to be shaping up to export prodigious amounts of radioactive trout. Apparently uranium is a good source of yellow food colouring which has improved the region's ready meals industry (previously reliant on green food colouring produced by The Holy Empire of Serafinowicz)

Although The Free Land of The gaoled have yet to ratify the Regional Subterranean Lifestyle Treaty, it is thought likely that living in a hole and living in gaol might have similarities.
