Cockbill Street County Championship Season 1

The first Season of the Streetian County Championship, a four-day competition in county cricket in Cockbill Street saw Jotneheim dominated initially, winning their first two matches by huge margins. B'zugda'hiara also won their first two matches, but less convincingly, and were trailing by eleven points when the teams met at the K'haz'bak K'hrikit'gazh'dukh. What followed was a rout. Jotneheim batted first, making 512, and then bowled the dwarves out twice for 392 in total - winning by an innings and 120 runs, their third innings win in as many attempts. Woodshire took over second place following their seven-wicket win over CSCT - but they had already lost by an innings and 128 runs to Jotneheim. In the fourth round, Jotneheim endured their first draw, attempting to chase down 294 to win but failing by 28 runs. That allowed Woodshire to close the gap to 12 points, after a clever declaration and good bowling against Northset. On the fifth matchday, Woodshire travelled to Wynshire, and after a 202-run first-innings lead and a subsequent four-wicket they acquired 17 points from the game - three more than Jotneheim, who had been bowled out for 244 by Northset. Then, Woodshire won a close game with B'zugda'hiara, where they had been bowled out for 137 in their second innings, thus setting a target of 252 - and then bowling B'zugda'hiara out for 173 to win by 88 runs. Jotneheim had it easier, chasing 149 to win with six wickets to spare, and increasing their lead to ten points. However, the next two rounds were decisive for the league title. Woodshire first failed to bowl out Rothershire, only taking fourteen wickets in a drawn game, thus allowing Jotneheim to run away with a 21-point lead. And on the eighth matchday, Woodshire gained a 78-run lead on first innings, set a target of 287 which was higher than all the scores so far in the match, only to see Jotneheim chase it down with four wickets to spare - and increase their lead to 29 points. With Woodshire struggling for form - even losing to Northset by an innings - the title race became a one-team show. Jotneheim eventually won eleven matches, drawing their other three, while Woodshire lost the second-place when they were bowled out for 74 against B'zugda'hiara, losing by an innings and two runs. That allowed Wynshire, who had a spotless post-season with six games unbeaten, including five wins, to take second place.
