Crimmond was once the lands of Poland, Czeckloslovokia, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Kaliningrad. Founded from a war and led through many, many more through it's illustrious history of bloodshed, cruelty and warmongering, there has only been one era that the nation has been at total peace.

That changed with the Black Staff, Crimmond's intelligence organization and one of the best shadow organizations in the world, took power. Led by Agent Delta, later Administrator, the Black Staff roused the nation from it's peaceful slumber with wardrums, annexing neighboring Baggera(bringing with it Belarus, Kaliningrad, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania). He vowed to not stop there, putting down small rebellions throughout the Provinces easily.

Alliances

Crimmond has an active membership in the Crimmond Combine and Ministry at this time.

Previous alliances have included the first incarnation of the GDODAD, the WMNK, the International Banking Organization, Galactic Alliance, the Crimmond Combine Inter-Regional Alliance(the first incarnation of the Combine) and the APTO.

Baggera was a member of Metus immediatly before annexation(see above) and has been part of Arda, SAVIOUR, the Nuclear and Bio-Chem Weapons Proliferation Treaty and several short lived anti-elf alliances.

Crimmond Military

The Crimmond military might is not split into five divisions like most nations on Earth. Instead of an Army, Airforce, Navy, Marines and Coast Guard, Crimmond only has a Navy and Marine Corps, which handle the responsibilities of the absent branches. The Navy handles both Naval and Airforce matters. The Marines take on the roles of Army and Coast Guard in addition to the amiphibious role of a Marine Corps.

Navy

Crimmond's Navy has changed dramaticly since the early days of Naval superiority. Reduced from a total of eight carrier battlegroups, one-hundred and fifty submarines and nearly 200 free roaming surface ships, the Olde Man's Navy, as they are known throughout the fleet as, has only one carrier group and less than a dozen free roaming ships. Submarines have reduced as well, but they are not the old nuclear and diesel subs of old. The three dozen submarines roaming the waters for Crimmond are all Supremacy Class Stealth Submarines. The most famous of which is the CSS Monitor, which had a class of space cruiser named after it.

The space navy is much better equipped, though equally different from the rest of the world and the rest of the galaxy. While long range is the key to most fleets, Crimmond fleets employ one of the oldest naval attacks. The broadside. Only once in history has Crimmond fought a naval battle with the same nation twice. This rarity of repeat engagments is because of one fact: Crimmond captains and admirals will ram the enemy fleet if a battle is not going well and sometimes if it is. Seeing a dreadnaught blast it's way through waves of fighters, knocking frigates and light cruisers aside and blowing apart as it strike your command ship... the sheer morale effect is worth the monetary loss, propmting the fleet to refitted with reinforced and in some cases solid depleted uranium/steel alloys.

Task Force Renegade

Many years ago, when Crimmond was not just a powerful nation, but controller of five star systems, there were six great fleets to protect the empire. When Crimmond retired from the politics of the galaxy, back to Europe, back to the days before the fleets were created and the time when FTL drives were standard, two fleets defected and stayed in the galaxy.

Later, one more, which was kept FTL capable as a last ditch fleet, defected as well. With three fleets with Crimmond crews, Crimmond Captains and Admirals roaming the galaxy, piracy in their sectors died out. Seeing that the fleets worked well together and seperate, Task Force Renegade, as they were known, became a unified militia of the space lanes.

With some governments, they were welcomed as they freed up that nation's ships for other duties. With others, they were seen as little more than pirates of pirates, boarding the raiding ships and taking what they needed, before abandoning the ship and destroying it.

Made up of not only humans, but elves, gern-jacks, orions, the occasional android and a number of rare alien species, the Renegades have become less of a military force and more of a righteous faction of the galaxy, holding three starbases. Two abandoned by Crimmond and one captured from pirates. These serve as their colonies. Outpost stations serve as a small supply network. They have, in effect, made theselves a militarily ruled Empire of their own.

Marines

The Crimmond Marine Corps is in two halves as well. The Assault Marines and the Strike Marines. The Assault Marines are geneticly engineered super soldiers, as many nations employ. Some are walking mountains of flesh while others are frailer than any normal human. The Strike Marines are the normal volunteer half of the Corps, using technology not that far advanced from the modern militaries around the world.

Strike Marines employ many advanced technologies in the medical, transport and suppliy and information gathering roles. But the Generals realized that a high powered laser rifle can kill you just as fast as a 7.62mm assault rifle can, so troops in the Strike Marines carry weapons not that different than the roots of the Corps.

Assault Marines, on the other extreme, employ everything from individual soldiers with powersuits, ion weapons, lasers that can slice through flesh like butter and explosive arsenals that can bring down skyscrapers to the most contrversial armored units in history. The Battlemechs. From the Madcat to the Atlas to the Raven, most of the common mechs are here, as are a special variety of mech. The Scythe Enforcer Class Urban Mech. Fast, agile, lightly armored and able to literally vanish into a city, these Mechs are not meant to stop an army, but to merely drive them insane in urban enviroments.

OOC Notes

This section is completely OOC and any information herein cannot be used in an IC manner without my consent.

NS Calculators

To the upper right of the page are the links to the two popular calulators. I do not use the Economy calulator at all and the Pipian calulator is a completely laughable with it's estimations of strength, so I use it just for kicks. Neither will ever be used seriously by me, and I would remove the links from this page if it would let me. While I respect the players that spent unknown hours on those calculators, it's too much like number wanking for my tastes.

RPing

RPing is what I do for fun. I love it and would never want to give it up. I don't love following the crowds of fads though. I do when it suits me though.

Technology Boundries

These do not exist for me. I have interacted with nations that think electricity is a passing fad and others that have intragalactic fleets. Some call this breaking ettiquite and unstable RPing. My only concern in an RP is the story. Technology, species, sex, location... these are all parts of the RP, but the story you tell should never be dominated by any one of those things.

War

One of the most fun and difficult things to RP. I am involved in an war with a legend of NS, Automagfreek. And it was he, Steel Butterfly, The Brotherhood of Nod and the original Sniper Country that showed me what the best way to RP a war truely is.

As I state above, all the things that make up an RP are only supporting the story. The one, true goal of my wars is to make a story that you want to see made into a movie or a novel. If you can make the mind's eye see a war, you have succeeded, win or lose.

You can't do that by simply saying that a fleet or an army starts to flank a position, you have to involve people. A colonel, a general, a corporal, a grunt soldier making the flanking move. Without that... you might as well just RP a documentary.
