The Battle of Cyro

Cyro was the Second largest Battle in the Dyelli Beybian Civil War, but is eclypsed by the far bloodier Battle of Bath. Cyro began with a Naval Bombardment by the Tzarist Grand Admiral, Lord Reton Hinoalos, Duke of Alexigrad, however, without ground forces the Tzarist Navy was unable to secure any fresh supplies and a week after commencing the bombardment, surrendered it's ships to Grossadmiral Rudolf von Scheer.

A communications break down meant that the incoming Navy from Fasta Benj under the command of Tzar Henry IV was unnaware that von Scheer had assumed command of the Dyellian shipping. Both forces met off the coast, however the Tzar intended to sink the potentially disloyal Dyellian Navy, anyway. At aproximately 6:00 in the morning both sides opened fire on one another at 20 nautical miles range, both Navies simultaneously revealing their true intentions. In the chaos, the numerically superior, and better designed Dyelli Beybian ships began to come out on top, with the Tzar himself being killed on the bridge of his Flagship. By nightfall the Benjians lost some 30 ships of varying sizes compared to 8 on the Dyellian side. The remaining Benjian ships retreated and were later scuttled.

Meanwhile on land, a Jiggadian force had attacked the city itself, under the guise of coming to reinforce the defences. However, they had greatly underestimated the number of Socialist troops in the city, and their positions were overun.
