The Free Lands of Ediroth was an alliance of the numerous islands off the shore of the jungle peninsula to the south of Oldham Road on the mainland of the Spectrum, that was founded on the principles of tollerance, freedom and understanding. In an increasingly political international community, where neighbouring nations ranged from militaristic to outright psychotic, the gulf islands banded together and established a Council, in which all member states were represented equally, headed by an elected representative who would act as the voice of Ediroth on the international stage.

Though the diversity of beliefs and cultures within Ediroth made it a vibrant corner of the spectrum, the jungles dotted with temples and ancient forts, it also led to great unrest. Xenophobic splinter groups began carrying out terrorist attacks almost immediately, targetting anyone that collaborated with the Union.

A UN report in late 2006 exposed the internal strife of Ediroth to the rest of the region, prompting Ediroth to approach the Security Council for military aid. Calumnius immediately responded with a large contingent of engineers and an offer of diplomatic staff, but as international involvement began a surge in terrorist attacks made diplomacy seem futile. Oldham Road made attempts to stop this aid from entering the country, but despite the positioning of troops along the northern border, Calumnius' Civil Engineers ran the blockades without any major resistance.

Membership of the Shiny Consumerocracy

On the 12 of June 2007 the inter-rim government of Ediroth chose to become a member state of the Shiny Consumerocracy, bringing it under the protection of SATO and opening avenues for unrestricted trade within SATO to allow for economic growth. There was however a large uprising against this action by the Shiny Consumerocracy, mostly regarding Oldham Road's occupation of Kumbaya.

SATO Resolution on Ediroth

Citing various international law documents, SATO allowed the inclusion of Ediroth into the Shiny Consumerocracy as a means to allow the establishment of a legitimate government while coalition troops remained in the nation, as no government elected, or laws passed while a nation is under occupation can be considered legitimate when said occupation ends. The voluntary inclusion of Ediroth into I Know Better Than You allows for the election of a local government, and gives the opportunity for Ediroth to reach parity with the rest of the region, with the ultimate aim of it redeclaring its independence when it is able to support itself on the international stage.
