Government system

Head of state is a monarch bearing the title „His/Her Majesty the King/Queen“. He/she is to sign international treaties and to represent the state on behalf of the people. This is a title and office which is inherited by the oldest son/daughter of the reigning sovereign. As soon as the oldest child turns 14 years, he/she is invested with the official title of the crown prince/ -ess: Herzog/in (Duke/Duchess of) von Großgründlach. Furthermore, the sovereign names or dismisses the ministers upon advice of the Chancellor. The monarch is the supreme commander of the Royal Armed Forces by law. Besides the sovereign has to sign all issues passed by the legislature.

The Erlangen-Ansbacher parliament consists of two chambers. The lower chamber of parliament is called the Reichstag. It may introduce bills for consideration, if these are endorsed by one third of the members. Furthermore, the Reichstag maintains the right of declaration of war and peace in concert with the sovereign.

The Reichstag elects the Reichskanzler (Chancellor) who is head of governement, maintains the right to set the guide lines for the governmental work („Richtlinienkompetenz“) and acts as chief spokesman of the state on international summits.. The upper chamber of parliament is the Reichsrat (Federal Council) and represents the executives of the states of the United Kingdom: It may introduce own bills to be considered by a 1/3 majority. The laws who are to be presented to the Reichsrat determined by the Reichsverfassung Art. 50-53 and/or separate laws.

Every five years there are general elections to vote on a new lower chamber. The upper chamber is not elected by nationwide elections – its members are delegates of the state governments.

The Königliche Landesverfassungsgericht (KLVG) is the supreme court of the United Kingdom of Erlangen-Ansbach and Peru. The KLVG justices are appointed by the sovereign upon non-binding advice of the Chancellor, but their appointment must be confirmed by the Reichstag. The Ministry of Justice and/or the states’ Departments’ of Justice are authorised to appoint the judges of the courts they are in charge of. The jurisdiction acts independent from the legislature, executive and the sovereign.

Administrative units

Herzogtümer (singular Herzogtum) Erlangen (cap. Erlangen), Ansbach (cap. Ansbach), Leutershausen (cap. Leutershausen), Roth (cap. Roth), Stadeln (cap. Stadeln), Großgruendlach (cap. Großgruendlach), Nordbrüssel (cap. Luxemburg), Südbrüssel (cap. Charlesroi), Hessen (cap. Wiesbaden), Neu-Ansbach (cap. Willhelmshaven), Peru (cap. Fennbridge).

The Herzogtümer are governed by a state government, which is led by an Exarch, who is elected by the Landtag (state parliament). The Exarchs are head of government and state of these partly-sovereign states. In all domestic affairs there is an optionally competing legislation between states and the federation: Generally a federal act overrules a state act. The states maintain supremacy in cultural and educational affairs, while the federal government (His Majesty's Government) looks after defence and foreign affairs with supremacy.
