The F/A-103 is a brand-new strike fighter being put into service with the Asgarnian Air Force and Asgarnian Naval Force to usher in a new era of air power. It is a futuristic-looking aircraft, and is one of the most powerful aircraft flying within the 10000 Islands.

History

The F/A-103 was created to extend the capabilites of the new, reformed Asgarnian Air Force. It was originally planned to be a large, slow-moving attacker, but after the retirement of all foreign aircraft from Asgarnian service, a cumbersome aircraft like that would not be acceptable.

The F/A-103, originally called the X-165FA Program, was kicked off with a single unit being manufactured. It was dubbed X-165. It began comprehensive flight tests and weapons tests.

Originally, the X-165 carred a single 20mm, seven internal hardpoints, and two external hardpoints--usually reserved for drop-tanks. However, flight tests proved that the aircraft was capable of carrying much more whilst still being highly usable. The guns were upgraded to two 27mm cannons with 360 rounds each, one 37mm slow-fire cannon with 125 rounds, a single internal eight position missile rack, and four external hardpoints.

After the X-165 recieved the modifications, flight tests were re-performed. The aircraft flew with exceptional results.

The Asgarnian Government ordered 1,500 for the air force and 1,250 for the navy on the spot.
