Formossa is a young nation, only about 3 (RP) years old, it exists out of Qantrix and Moldor it's the biggest (in landmass) nation of Europe, however large parts of the Formossan Land is glow in the dark due to a nuclear war which was fought during it's creation.

History

Formossa has a very short history, 4 years ago, a war between Sortain and a large coalition of nations broke out, this war known as the Lustiger Gluckshase Operation is one of the most bloody Europe has ever known. On the Qantrixian-Moldorian (a dominion of Sortain) Border there was a bloody trench war. However, Grand Admiral of the Qantrixian Navy, Frederick of Thorbecke growed tired of the war, he took control of the Qantrixian Special Forces and assasinated the Government. While the War raged through on the Moldorian Border, a civil war went on.

The Province of Duneria and Aedolius immediatly pledged allegiance to Frederick. Frederick then invited the leaders of the provinces of Amsterdam and Trion to talk with him. When they arrived he forced them to surrender their nations to him. Meanwhile, in Ixionpolis, the Falangist Republic was declared, a christian-falangist nation, after unsuccesfull talks, Czar Frederick assasinated their leader, Geert Wilders and after a missile baragge forced them to surrender. After seeing what happened to Ixionpolis, the province of Dariota surrenderd without a fight. The last Qantrixian Province, Qanama did fight through for another week. Within the space of 3 weeks, Frederick had seized control of Qantrix, he declared the Czarist Confederation of Formossa and crowned himself to Czar.

During his crowning he began to stir unrest and instability among the Moldorian Ranks, he had made deals with a group of Moldorians before his coup and as he took control, the Moldorians did the same. After a RP year of fighting, both Moldor and Qantrix were defeated, and a new nation had arisen.

Armed Forces of Formossa

The Armed Forces of Formossa are well funded and and are technologically very advanced, the leaders have experience. However, they have problems to produce large amounts of weaponry and thus most of is infantry based. Among the Armed Forces there is special attention to the Special Forces, the FASO unit is among the best Special Forces of Europe.

At the moment, the strongest point of the Formossan Armed Forces is the navy, the only part which wasn't heavily damaged (like the army) or sold due to a economical depression (like the airforce.) However it's expected that within years, the army and the airforce will be at pre-war levels, due to a growing war industry in Formmossa and a improving economical situation.

Economy of Formossa

When the Czar was crowned, he was faced with a tough job, the economy of both Moldor and Qantrix was collapsed. Due to free market policies and the attracting of foreign investors, the economy is getting out of the depression it has been in since the war, but it is still far behind.

In Qantrix, the agriculture and knowledge industry seems to becoming the main industries. In Moldor, the Mining and War Industries are gaining the upper hand. The biggest trading partners are the fellow FMS nations, but Adelyne, Great Britannia and Rokolev also have close trade relations with Formossa.

Political Situation in Formossa

There recently have been elections in Formossa, with a voter turn-out of 99,7% the right-wing parties had a big victory, with the Czarist Conservative Party being the winner of the elections, the Libertarians were second however the coalition was made up of the Czarist Conservatives, Falangists and Fascists, not that it matters since the Czar may veto the decisions of the Cabinet as he wishes.

The Parliament of Formossa exists out of three parts, one part is Meritocratic (chosen by the unversities,) one part is Aristocratic (chosen by the Czar,) and one part is Democratic (chosen by the people.)

Justice in Formossa

The Justice system in Formossa can change by province. But there is one nation-wide court, the Supreme Court, which exists out of judges selected directly by the Czar (although the Czar can veto a decision made by the judges.)

Formossa generally has harsh punishments, the death penalty is used, although the number of times differ by province, in Ixionpolis there are 20 death penalties every month, in Weimar there hasn't ever been any.

Aedolius

Aedolius was once the capital of Qantrix, however was crushed by missile attacks from Moldor, it's currently being rebuild, but it's still nothing compared to how it used to look like. The growth is low, and since Thorbecke is the capital Aedolius has needed to re-invent itself, it's well-educated population however has remained and the financial and IT sector is rapidly growing.

Amsterdam

Apart from a occasional missile strike on the capital city, Amsterdam has been doing pretty good. This province has become more important as the economy in the former main cities has imploded, but the growth of this province is small in comparison to other provinces. This province is the left-wing bastion of Formossa, however a serie of mysterious car crashes has put a stop to that.

Dariota

Dariota is for the most part covered in woods, its lumber industry was flourishing before the war and continues to do so (although lots of it's workers died in it) it's economy however is nothing compared to other provinces, there are a lot of poor people and the alcoholism and analfabetism among it's population is shockingly high.

Duneria

Duneria is very popular among the tourists and is where all the rich live, it hasn't changed a bit, it was left untouched during the war. However since the war there has been a dip in the number of tourists, luckily for the local economy the number of tourists is once again on the rise

Girona

Girona is a province of immigrants, it's located in Southern Formossa and the big cities are mostly inhabited by Catalonians. Outside the cities, it are miners (usually army veterans) who are the biggest group.

Ixionpolis

Ixionpolis has always been very christian, and the povery caused by the deperssion has only made it more christian. Untill 1960, witch hunting was allowed here and to this day, homosexuals get the death penalty. During the Civil War, the Falangist Republic was launched here, which failed but the Czar has been forced to grant them the freedom to enact their laws. This region is the only region where the Falangists are popular.

Lausanne

Like Girona, Lausanne is also mainly a province of immigrants. It has quickly become the financial centre of Formossa, but is facing more and more competition of Trion. Many Immigrants became rich here very quickly, and it's, after Duneria, the richest province of Formossa. The Libertarians have a big power base here.

Qanama

Qanama has been hurt much by Operation Lustiger, many dockworks and much of the city has been destroyed, giving a huge blow to the economy. But, the Government has invested alot in rebuilding the dockworks. It seems that the dockworks remain the strength of Qanama. Qanama was also once the industrial capital of Qantrix, but those days seem to be over as most of the industries are moving to Weimar, Girona and Zurich.

Savoy-Vichy

Savoy-Vichy is alot like Lausanne (although it has a bigger population), but there is more industry based here and there are more income differences. A group has become very rich, but there's also a group (which usually work in the factories) which doesn't have a lot to come around with. The Services Industry is rapidly growing and seems to be changing this

Thorbecke

Thorbecke is the capital of Formossa and has experienced the most rapid growth of Formossa. The Czar has build 3 palaces here and a couple of kilometres from the city he has ordered a giant golden statue for him to be build. Thorbecke is the new political capital of Formossa and this has severly boosted the industry.

Trion

Before the Lustiger Operation, Trion was the commercial capital of Qantrix. During the war this has changed. As the stockmarkets went down, so did Trion and at the end of the war it was normal to see bussinessmen going to the frontlines because they had no other choice. It has taken a while for Trion to get growing again, but it seems that finally Trion is also growing again.

Venice

Immedialty after the war, the most immigrants went to Venice, by the time the war ended, all fighting here had ended for months. However after 2 years of rapid growth, it seems this region is stabilizing. It has a lot of workers and some poverty. The fascist party houses here.

Weimar

Half of Weimar lies in Qantrix, and half lies in Moldor. Both parts were kinda underdeveloped when the war started but they have growed rapidly, many refugee's came here and when the war ended decided to stay and build up a new living. Western Weimar has seen a growth in industry, while in Eastern Weimar the knowledge economy has grown. The TV Industry of Formossa is mostly located in Rudicarell...

Zürich

Zürich exists, except for a few big cities where the service industry flourishes, mostly out of small mining towns, where war veterans have launched mining corporations. In Eastern Zürich you can still see the trenches in which was fought.
