The Romanesque Colonial Province of Hispania Ulterior
The Romanesque Colonial Province of Hispania Ulterior is a massive, safe nation, notable for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed population have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of the Environment, Healthcare, and Education. A substantial private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.
Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Hispania Ulterior's national animal is the horse, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the neocoin.
The Government of Hispania Ulterior
Executive Branch:
The Grand Governor: The Grand Governor's job is to make sure that NeoRoman law is upheld within his/her respective colony. They are the representative of the colony within the Imperial Senate and ensure that the colony has a voice within the legal matters of NeoRome. All important decisions made by the Imperial Senate or the NeoCeasar are carried out through the Grand Governor.
The : The is the person of whom holds sovereignty over the colony. He is head of the local Colonial Senate and with them they make all local decisions for the colony.
Legislative Branch:
The Colonial Senate:The Colonial Senate's main body is made up of the Grand Governor, The Imperial Reprosentative and 4 Colnial Senators all of which are elected by the people and serve for life.
'The Colonial Senators: The Colonial Senators are: Colonial Senator of the people (whose job is to represent the populace in the Colonial Senate), Colonial Senator of the court (whose job is to make sure the law is upheld in all decision made by the Colonial Senate), Colonial Sentor of the Treasury (making sure all finances are in order), and finally the Colonial Senator of Foreign Affairs (whose job is to give insight on what other nation's opinions are on topics brought up in the Colonial Senate). The rest of the Colonial senate is made up of mayors from all the towns within the colony. The mayors have the power to bring up to the main body major bills of which only the main body votes on. Other than that power, the mayors are really nothing more than an audience to the Colonial Senate.
Judicial Branch:
Colonial Supreme court:The Colonial Supreme Court is made up of the Colonial Senator of the court of whom is the head judge and six appointed judges of whom are elected by the Colonial Senator of the Court and The Grand Governor. All appointed judges serve for life.
