The House of Kalderis or Kalderis Dynasty were a line of esteemed monarch of Magnus Valerius of Valerian Cossack origin who ruled The Valerian Empire from 1615 until 2000. The first monarch, Ivan I, established the dynasty and restructured the realm after the disastrous Age of Many Tsars that came after the disestablishment of the House of Cambridge, the previously established dynasty, and the "regency" of the House of von Plittersdorff held until Rudolf IV's deposition and popular revolt against the Valerians.

Under the Kalderis Dynasty, Magnus Valerius became the dominant power in the Kuric-Gedonian Continents, surpassing Kuria through expansion, wars, and development. The Kalderis monarchs are viewed as perhaps the most successful dynasty in terms of developing the empire into its modern form.

Early Family History

The Kalderis family most likely originated as a family of paid horsemen in the 6th century (under the name, Kaledyerich) that later adapted to life in the saddle once the family moved onto East Valeria.

Dukes

In the later years of his reign, Archibald III invested the title Duke of Angara to the Kalderis family after the Kalderis family under Ivan I, Duke of Angara, won a stunning victory in a border skirmish with the Kingdom of Gothland. The Duchy of Angara was a small claim of land that was mostly unsettled, but the Kalderis Family's prestige nonetheless was elevated due to this title. The first Duke, Ivan the Glorious, established the small town of Layuria, which in the year 1300, documented to have less than 1,000 people, as the ducal capital. Ivan The Glorious, although now a duke, still kept to the cossack and East Valerian traditions of the family.

The Kalderises became known as trusty and knowledgeable warriors and tacticians, which many Valerian sovereigns often turned to during their military exercises. Duke Vasily I was a field marshal in service of King George I when George dreamed of conquering all of the nations surrounding King William's Sea. He was killed in The Battle of Alexandria after successfully leading an army alongside George and immortalized with a marble monument in Isangrad. George did not forget Vasily's sacrifice and granted the Kalderises a portion of the spoils from the conquered Twin Republics, Kingdom of Alexandria and Duchy of West Baden. Ivan II refused most of the spoils except for the fine horses and some weapons and armor he was offered.
