His Imperial Majesty Ivan IV Kalderis (November 11th, 1911 - July 18th, 1939) was tsar of the Grand Empire of Magnus Valerius for a brief period of time; he reigned for a little under three years from September 1936 to July 1939.

Early Life

Ivan was the first son of Tsar Ivan III. He was born in Isangrad on November 11th, 1911, the last child of Tina Borivich, Ivan III‘s first wife; Tina died during labor. As a child, he was considered a hopeless romantic. Ivan was reported to have many prepubescent encounters with other girls at his local school, and he often wrote poems for the girls he enjoyed the presence of. This was a mere foreshadowing of the Ivan later on in his short life.

In terms of academic ability, Ivan was a B+ student all around, but he was adept with a profound interest in love. When he turned thirteen years old, he stirred many gasps and shocked the royal court when his sex drive began to escalate to levels beyond the already high level of other young teens in the process of puberty. Ivan could not restrain himself from seducing all of his female peers, and it is rumored that, from age thirteen to the day of his death, Ivan had hundreds of lovers. Some people say he might have also had male lovers, although such people who say that are often political enemies of the Valerian Monarchy. His predicament was not dissimilar to that of his ancestor, George III; they both are now believed to have been nymphomaniacs.

After high school, Ivan went on to complete a degree in Creative Writing, minoring in Chemistry, at King Henri’s University in the city of Kholmogory. He was considered to be a jock, participating in soccer and lacrosse tournaments and taking up tennis on the side. Ivan was popular amongst the cheerleading girls and was reputed to be a party in himself. He often involved himself in crazy drinking parties.

Reign

In 1936, when Ivan was a mere twenty-four years old, his father, Tsar Ivan III, died. Ivan took the crown as Ivan IV, but there was concerns within the royal court, for Ivan IV was not yet married. Ivan was promiscuous and he did not bother trying to find a bride; rather, he was determined to sate his seemingly endless sexual thirst by dating noblewomen, commoners, and courtesans alike. He was seen often at stripper bars, and the prostitutes in Isangrad all knew his name. The royal court worked to keep all of Ivan IV’s excesses mum, paying off the prostitutes and women hush money and blackmailing them with excessive prison sentences if they confess about their adventures with Ivan. Ivan, however, eventually decided to marry a prostitute, Maria Gagarin, in late 1937, but unfortunately for Ivan, this woman whom he married in a secret ceremony was rife with syphilis. He contracted the disease and it progressed rapidly throughout his short reign. He could not produce a legitimate heir due to this fact, although Maria Gagarin had some children from her previous forays in her business. Maria died from syphilis in August 1938.

Only two years into his reign, Ivan was suffering severely from tertiary syphilis. He could not make public appearances and all matters of the empire were taken over by his able half-brother and successor, Meijis. The disease made the emperor bedridden and he was often recounted as writhing in agony. On July 17th, 1939, Ivan was dying and he decided to designate his half-brother as his heir. The next day, Ivan IV died of complications from syphilis at the age of twenty-seven. He reigned for under three years, and was overall an insignificant but intriguing emperor.

Illegitimate Children

Although Ivan did not have any legitimate children, he fathered several illegitimate children with various women he had encounters with. He had many lovers and it is speculated that he completely loved a particular lover. So far, there are sixteen children that are known to be definitely his, although it is believed he may have had as many as thirty. Virtually all of Ivan’s children led successful lives, unlike his own. Several became war heroes in the Sasukuo War of 1951. Each favorite has a length in years of their relationship with Ivan.

It is interesting to note that Ivan and Tara Tseng were particularly close, due to the large number of children they had together and for the length of their relationship. Were it not for the Valerian Purity Laws, Ivan would have most likely married Tara Chang, and thus he would not have contracted syphilis, living out his reign to full term. Even if he did live, he would have likely become a co-ruler with Meijis I anyway, since Meijis was intelligent and capable in comparison.
