History

The Creation

The region of Hyrule was formed by the three godesses Din, Nayru, and Farore. It is widely believed that these three goddeses were created themselves by an ultimate being known only as the Supreme Creator.

According to legend, Din created the physical geography of the realm, Farore created the flora and fauna, and Nayru gave the laws of physics to the realm. Once the goddesses had completed their tasks, they departed for the heavens, and left behind them three golden triangles. Into these, they gave their power to govern all things; this became known as the Triforce. triforce.png

NationStates History

The region was founded (OOCly) sometime in early 2004 by a small group of active Zelda fans. In the early days, the leaders of the region were looking to build a relationship with the now-defunct region of Termina. Over time, the region grew, and by about December 2004, the region had 30 nations. At the end of March, 2005, a regional map and forum were established.

Starting in April 2005, Hyrule has started a regional recruitment drive to get more nations to come to the region. This has worked; at the beginning of April, there were only 19 nations. As of June 12, 2005, there are 85 nations.

On April 22, 2005, Hyrule was invaded by nations of the region Cotham and Cakeland. At around 4:00 AM EST the following day, the leader, Marionettles, usurped the delegate posistion, and ejected the former delegate and other nations. This inspired great amounts of anti-foriegn sentiments within the Hyrule community, although the invaders did say they would leave April 27th.

With the help of regional counter-invasion groups, the forces of Marionettles were expelled from Hyrule on April 24, and the old regime was restored. The posistion of delegate was transfered to the nation elected on the off-site forum, Ness Snorlaxia. Throughout the months of May and June, a cabinet was formed.

On May 26th, the founder of the region was revived. The following day, he returned to Hyrule, much to the happiness of other natives.

United Nations Delegate

The first delegate of Hyrule was that of the founder, Kholint. Although the beginning of his delegacy is not known, it ended on 30 June, 2004. Tri-Hylians took power soon after, becoming delegate on 30 June. His delegacy lasted for 288 days, until 14 April, 2005, the longest in Hyrule history.

On that day, The Spotteddick, a native of the region, recieved more endorsements than Tri-Hylians, therefore becoming delegate. However, he did not want the posistion, so Ness Snorlaxia removed an endorsement from the nation and added it to Tri-Hylians's. Once again, he became delegate, lasting a brief period of time until 23 April, 2005.

Marionettles, an invader delegate, took power on that day, and ejected many nations. On the off-site forum, Ness Snorlaxia was elected to be delegate once the natives could get back to Hyrule.

With help from the RRA and other defender organizations, the region was liberated and Toodeloo, a defender, became delegate for one day. This posistion was then transfered to Ness Snorlaxia on 25 April, 2005, who has ruled since that day.

Foreign Affairs

Ever since May of 2005, one of the region's priorities is establishing foreign contact. As of 11 June, 2005, Hyrule has embassies in the following regions:
