導入 - Introduction

The Dominion of Itoi, is a small, landlocked nation, located on the westerly Texan island of Texas Prime. It is situated in the centre of western hill country and is one of the area's smaller states. Placed near to the north border of the dominion is it's capital, Hîragi, and to the south it's largest city, Aihara.

The Dominion of Itoi is a constitutional monarchy, with a parliamentary government. It is supported by a governing body, which emphasises the issue of maintaining civil rights and highlights a level of social equality without the usual accompanying government corruption. The current instated governing party is the LDP (Liberal Democratic Party), which is built around a cabinet selected by the primeminister. It's currency is the Tao.

History

The exact founding date of the Dominion is unestablished, and therefor historical references to a founding figure remain theoretical. However, it is a widely accepted theory that Itoi's foundation stone was laid at some point between 900 - 1200 of the first age. Records laid thereon are categorised into sub-texts, each assigned an "age", from the first age in the year 900 BC on through to the present tenth age - or the Age of the Tiger. Each age is spread over a period of 300 years, in which case the Age of the Tiger will end on December first 2100 AD. A written record of the passing of the emperor dynasties are written direct from records listed during these periods. The first recorded ruler is Emperor Takashi Naitô, and thus he is regarded widely as the "founding father" of Itoi.

Artifacts and relics from the first period of Itoan history, indicate that the dominion was initially, for a period of roughly 400 - 500 years, split into 5 states: Jiao, Shaio, Tsun, Zao and Setzu - of which each consistently shifted and developed to shape the basic border outlines that surround Itoi today. Each dominion had a seperate established shogunate, each of which supplied overseers to govern regional events and developements. Through from the second to fourth age the centre of government, and the seat of the emperor was symbolically founded and located in Aihara, the state capital of Jiao. However through the years, as diplomatic alignments changed and moulded, competetion steadily developed and instilled itself as each region vied for the power to unite the nation under one flag. Securing a firm standing to assume this position would require a convergeance on the central state of Jiao, and the capture of Aihara. In achieveing this, the state would be turned over, re-contituted and the crown reinstated with the victorious nation.

As news of a coming invasion reached the Emperor Sakamoto in Aihara, Jiao sought to redraw its old alliances to summon up enough support to withstand the predicted attack. The last remaining diplomatic bonds between Jiao and the warring states of Tsun and Shaio had long since been broken, and so the state was forced to draw on the states of Zao and Setzu in a call for aid. A meeting was arranged, and a mock war council was brought up from the three shogunates. However, Zao refused to align itself to either cause and abstained from diplomatic negotiations. Meanwhile Tsun and Shaio had set up a makeshift treaty in order to take advantage of Jiao's failure to mobilize, and had flagged camps to the western and northern borders, whilst building an army to storm the capital within the month.
