Crown Prince Ivan (born March 17th, 2027) is the first in the line of succession to the throne of Magnus Valerius. He is the eldest son of Tsar Alexander III. His fraternal twin sister is Princess Constantina of Valeria. Upon the death of his grandfather, Alexander II, he was given the title of Archduke of The Grand Empire (which designated him as the heir to the throne).
Early Life
As the eldest son and first-born of the Valerian Imperial Family, Ivan was given the name of his patrilineal ancestor, Tsar Ivan the First. With the luxuries of the court, Ivan was blessed with good health, food, and a life of ease. However, Ivan, as he developed, amazingly did not become spoiled. In fact, thanks to the influence of his mother, Yekaterina, he became selfless, optimistic, outgoing, and helpful. Such traits were seen as that of an effeminate in Alexander III's eyes, and he soon had Ivan participating in tough play and sports as well. Ivan took up skiing and snowboarding early in his life, and he soon became an accomplished basketball and baseball player as well.
Education
As of today, Ivan has yet to graduate from high school. He is in his senior year at the Orange Street Public High School and is reputed to be one of the most intelligent students on campus with his very high marks, a tradition set by his grandfather Alexander II.
Romance
The Crown Prince is currently caught up in a dilemma involving his romantic affairs in his life. He has fallen into mutual love with a Korean-Valerian woman by the name of Su-mee Kim. His father has been stringent on tradition and constantly reminds Ivan of the Valerian Purity Laws, which prevented an Emperor or Empress from marrying someone "unfit" to produce an heir (such as an East Asian or Finno-Ugric person). Despite the conflict Ivan faces with tradition, he has his heart set on marrying Su-mee. He may very well abolish the old laws in face of modern times.
