JackLayton and the NDP is a small nation, nesteled inbetween Nation of Quebec and Breeninion in the West Coast of Xindus.
History
JackLayton and the NDP was founded on February 2nd, 2006. It was created as a testomony to see what a country would look like if it were ran by Jack Layton. However, it is contantly joining and seperating from Nation of Quebec. The land is actually part of Nation of Quebec's territory, which is why Nation of Quebec continues to annex it. Like other nations in Xindus, it came from Socklend after the civil war. However, it acted as a spy nation to Socklend. It remained there for about five days before moving to Xindus due to the inactivity of the remaining Socklend members after the war.
Puppet Nation
Very recently, it was discovered by members of Jack Layton's parliment that the nation is actually a puppet of Nation of Quebec. However, the majority of the population seems to be unaware of this, and those that do don't know why or seem to care.
Government
The government was originally very left-wing, but due to being a puppet nation, it is now a centrist democracy. Despite this, elections are still allowed. Below is the main cabinent positions that citizens elect representatives for. Each minister represents a province in the nation.

Due to being a puppet nation, as well as being anti-war, JackLayton and the NDP has a rather small military. Nation of Quebec provides security for JackLayton and the NDP, although there exists the Jack Layton Army (JLA.) Its military is sometimes the butt of other nations jokes due to being so weak and small.
Economy
To other nation's surprise, JackLayton and the NDP actually has a strong economy. The enormous government is mainly concerned with Social Welfare, although Education and Healthcare are secondary priorities. A substantial private sector is dominated by the Gambling industry. Unlike other nations in Xindus, the government seems to lean towards socalism rather than capitalism. It has the best welfare in the region. The average income tax rate is 26%.
Culture
It is difficult to describe the culture of JackLayton and the NDP. It is one of the most cultured and polite nations in Xindus. The people are rather compassionate and are very open-minded. However, the Nation of Quebec continues to push its influence on the nation. Some areas are dominated by leetness, and Kantoranity has recently been made the official religion. The culture is constantly shifting, due to being annexed and then seperating.
United Nations on JackLayton and the NDP
The United Nations has discovered that JackLayton and the NDP is the most cultured and polite nation in the region. It also has the largest welfare. The UN also discovered that it is the least corrupt and extreme in the region. The United Nations refers to JackLayton and the NDP as an Innofensive Centrist Democracy.
However, JackLayton and the NDP has yet to show interest in joiningthe United Nations.
