</div> K.E.R.E.S., the Kalonii Emergency Reaction Enforcement Service is the youngest of Starblaydia's Intelligence Agencies, having been created in the days after Viannor Starblayde came to power as Lady Protector of Starblaydia.

In reality the recruiting, training, procurement and building of the KERES happened long before Viannor took control of the country, the concept bing born upon her return from Assington. Appropriate funding was granted by Lord Protector Tiberius Starblayde during the Break the Chain crisis, where the Starblaydi Inquisition, Police and Venators were found to be wanting in their hunt for domestic terrorists.

Initially costing one hundred and sixteen million credits, the KERES were to bridge the gap between the Police and Inquisition, allowing the Venators to return to black and special operations. The Venators had, according to Viannor, already failed in their protection capacity when they allowed Tiberius Starblayde to be assassinated on the Orca. With smart tailored suits and cutting-edge communications technology hard-wired into their clothing and accessories, the KERES are answerable only to Viannor.

The majority of KERES operatives are female and mostly operate at night, mimicking the Keres daemons of Nemyan mythology. They spread fear, terror and keep Viannor's regime in power.
