| The Kingdom of Kosmania is a country situated on the continent of Perspectif, in the region of Wysteria. Kosmania shares a land border with Barjavel to the Southwest. Across the Sea of Drakkar, The Bruce lies approximately 4,000 miles to the North, and the nation of Pooru lies approximately 3,500 miles to the Northwest. HistoryWhat today is modern-day Kosmania originally started as a loose grouping of 4 Germanic tribes, circa A.D. 500. Recognizing the need for strong defense and mutual protection, the tribes formed the Kosmanian Federation. Each tribe maintained almost complete independence, except for defense, which was provided equally by the four tribes. Through the centuries, some tribes began to gain strength over the others. The strongest of the tribes was definitively the Gottes tribe. In 1640, acknowledging his tribe's ability to take power, Johann von Gottes, leader of the Gottes tribe, declared himself King and proclaimed his dominion over the other three tribes. The other tribes, virtually powerless in comparison, had no choice but to submit to the Gottes tribe. This set the framework for the modern-day Kingdom of Kosmania. PoliticsHouses of KosmaniaIn the monarchy, the tribes evolved into houses: The line of succession of the houses is as listed above. In other words, should the leader of the House of Gottes die, the defunct leader's next of kin shall rise to the throne. Should the House of Gottes not have an heir, the House of Bücher's leader shall rise to the throne, and so forth. Under this line of succession, it would seem inevitable that one day the monarchy would cease to exist. Not so. This is one of the reasons why many noblemen and women have been adopted into the Houses since the monarchy began. According to Kosmanian law, one may only become sovereign if he or she belongs to a House. If one does not belong to a House, then one is a second-class citizen and is permanently ineligible from ascending to the throne.
