Liberty's Domain
Origins
The song "Liberty's Domain" is a poem written by Cravanian poet David Karsinak in 1872. Karsinak's work often described his homeland in a positive fashion, portraying it as a land of freedom and liberty. Karsinak was a well respected individual in Cravanian society, being a veteran of the armed services and an outspoken patriot. Upon his death in 1890, the government of Cravan honored him by adopting one of his pieces as the new national anthem.
In 1890 "Liberty's Domain" was adopted as the nation's national anthem, and set to the tune of the popular classical piece "Cum Historia," an ancient Latin song detailing the life cycle of a famous demon in Cravanian folklore known as Razgriz. "Liberty's Domain" has remained the nation's official national anthem since its adoption in 1890, and continues to be a popular song with the public.
Lyrics and Melody
"Liberty's Domain" is a very short poem spanning merely four stanzas (not including "Cravan" sung at the end of the song). The lyrics of the song are as follows:
'Cross emerald plains
Under skies of royal blue
Where freedom forever reigns
Here in liberty's blessed domain
Cravan
