Overview Nuevo Marseille- is an Island nation in western technopolis. Located in the western technopolitan Ocean, north of its mainland territory, and west of all other continents. Nuevo Marseille's capital is Santiago. Marseile comprises of 10 islands and two mainland territories. The largest Island being obviously Marseille Island follow by taotio,culican, and recovado island. While its mainland terriroties consist of catalonia Island, melila and cueta island, mar del cruz pennisula, balaric isles, and the glician strip.
Nuevo marseille has maintained a unitary constiutional monarchy with an king and an parshally elected parliamtent(the senate).with nobles retaining control of half of the parliament via the house of peers. regardless though the monarchy is still very popular even though it retains no actual power, while the nobles are viewed less favorable and tend to be a sense of regional rivalries. intertanionaly it has supported nuclear weapons and is acting ambassador to the region of "the future"
Marseille is the regions leading petroleum producer and exporter, and well as natural gas. Oil accounts for nearly 40% of exportsand its universally controlled by the governments, facilitating the creation of a welfare state, in which the government provides free education, health, and insurance.
Relations with Southern Trodenhiem
Southern trodenhiem has been a long standing trade partners and ally of Nuevo Marseille. Nuevo Marseille had for a long time provided Southern Trodnhiem with military support to defend its territory, as rebuttled by Southern trodenhiem this has now been limited to 200 royal gaurds, and is more cerimonial and traditional role than of any actual defence value.
Southern Trodenhiem sells wines, silks and precious stones along with basic foodstuff to the island nation in exchange for leather, whiskey, alcoholic beverages and other items that nuevo marseille exports. Both have benifited tramendously from the economic exchanges.
Government and Politics
Nuevo Marseille is a Constitutional Monarchy where the power of the monarch is very limited. As a cerimonial figurehead, he/she is defined by the constitution as the "symbol of the state".Power is held chiefly by the Chancellor of Marseille and other members of parliament, while sovereignty is veted in the Marsiean people. The monarch effectively acts as head of state on diplomatic ocassions.
Nuevo Marseilles legislature body is the National Assembly, a bicameral parliament. consits of a Senate, sontaining 480 seats elected by popular vote every 6 years or when dissolved, and the house of Peers of 273 seats, who's all held by nobles familys with out election. there is universal sufferage for adults over the age of 16, and a secret ballot for all elective offices. the Socialist Party has been in power since the begining of the National assembly. The largest is Opposition party is the Demcractic Party.
The Chancellor of Nuevo Marseille is the head of government. The position is appointed by the Monarch after being designated by the National Assembly from its members, and must enjoy the confidence of the Senate to remain in office. The Chancellor is head of the Cabinet and appointes or dissmisses the ministers of the state, a majority of whom the mist be Diet members.
The nation is split into 28 provinces, 2 states, and one free imperial city. It mainland terrioty are not inclueded in it National Assembly and have there own internial governments. The capital is Santiago.there are 6 overseas territories: Catalonia Island, Cueta, Mellila, Mar del Cruz, Galician Strip, and Balaric Isles all with command over there own governments that control and administer them with Nuevo Marseille only providing defence, and and international representiation. Most the of the population live in urban areas about 51%, while the remain choose either suberbs or rural areas, Most cities are located on the coast but there are a few interior cities.oil extraction and natural gas are the main industries along with Gambling in the cities, there is also a large information technology sector and an automible manufacturing centers, its main agrucultral priorities are usualy related to alcoholic and wine making, however coral and pearl and one of a few precious industry that is heavily watch and protected.
