Meritocratic Isles
The Meritocratic Isles are the original home of the Meritocracy. While at some point the capital was moved to the New Meritocracy, later the Isles have been reannexed as the third Province of the the Meritocracy.

History

The Meritocratic Isles, founded by Senator Tom from Thomasia, are one of the first regions in the NationStates. Lord Tom has intended them to be a home for capitalist nations who tended to have a conservative or libertarian bent. They have grown rapidly and became the first region in NationStates to develop a regional government.
When the Isles fell victim to the evil tyranny of United Nations, the capital was moved to the New Meritocracy. Later, however, the Senators have liberated and reannexed the Isles.
