The United Monkey Feet of Mousebumples
The nation is ruled by twin sisters, Elizabeth (Lizzy) Hall and Anastasia (Sasha) Hall, although to much of the world, it appears as if Lizzy is the sole leader. The twins worked together to overthrow the tyrannical rule of their parents when they were quite young. Due to their careful and meticulous planning, very few citizens were injured or killed during the overthrow. Their parents have been exilied, as no prisons exist in Mousebumples and the sisters could not bring themselves to execute their own parents, no matter what crimes they had committed.
In response to the previously tyrannical rule, the people of Mousebumples have a number of civil and political freedoms. They are more or less free to do whatever they wish, as long as their actions don't infringe on the rights of others. For example, smoking is outlawed within the country, in order to prevent the effects of second-hand smoke harming the innocents among the population.
Education is a top priority within Mousebumples, yielding a very intelligent population. Healthcare, the environment, and public transport are also high on the government's agenda. The populace is very patriotic - in large part because they know that they owe their freedoms to the Hall sisters.
The economy of Mousebumples is relatively weak, but tends to do well on the global scale, given the large size of the nation and the economic sector. Specifically, Mousebumples is renowned for their cheese exports, but other sectors also play a role in the global economy.
This nation is the Delegate to the United Nations for the region of Monkey Island. Previous to taking on this role in May 2004, the United Monkey Feet of Mousebumples served as the Minister of Hospitality to Monkey Island.
