The United Global Emirates of One World Nation is a Technocratic/Oligarchy currently under the control of the Oligarchs who are in turn under the rule of the Gardner Family. The One World Nation is split up into different Emirates each under the control of a Emirate Controller who answers only to the World Controller who is the Head of State and Government within OWN. In order to manage the nation the World Controller uses a collection of Offices in order to control every aspect of life within the One World Nation.

5. The Drones- The grunts of OWN, through genetic experimentation the Drones are being pre-designed for the jobs (mostly physical labor work of some sort) that they will work on for the rest of their lives. All cybernetic enhancements of the Drones either make them more efficient workers at their jobs or allows the Office of Drone Management to better control the Drones. Within the last decade exploration of means to erase free will in the Drones is being explored.

4. The Citizens- The fourth class of OWN society, this is the middle class (of sorts), from this wild gene pool can come genetic unknowns that could benefit OWN so the Citizens are allowed to exist. The Citizens have free will but that is being modified (somewhat) with propaganda and light controls used by their Upgrades. The Citizens push economic development and create a mass market for new technologies and some have proven themselves worthy of being elevated to higher (or as punishment, lower) classes within OWN society.

3. The Military- The third class of OWN society, which covers everything from navy, army, marines, etc. Like most other groups within OWN members of the military are developed through genetics and cybernetics to be perfect at their jobs. The Military defends OWN from invasion but isn't used to start wars, but can finish them.

2. The Scientists- One of the most powerful tiers of OWN society (only the Oligarchs are more powerful), the Scientist class are drawn from either Citizens or Oligarchs (some Oligarchs are also scientists, a dual place within OWN society) and investigate ALL areas of science and invention. Nanotech, computers, biology, sociology, psychology, mathmatics, etc. are encouraged for investigation as the most important scientific researches might come from obscure (or bizzare) areas of scientific thought.

1. The Oligarchs- The ruling class of OWN society, they are the wealthy, have the best Upgrades and Technologies, they run the corporations, the Emirates, and (for the Gardner Family) run the One World Nation itself. Political infighting is common, but has been kept to a minimum since the Oligarchs realize that too much infighting might embolden a popular revolt among the lower classes.

• Synops: A class system emerged to "better assist" the ascension of the Posthuman ideal and to build a powerful nation. Class positions are not permanent (except for the Drones) and elevation has become commonplace in recent years. Note that the list works from the bottom up (if the numbers didn't give it away!).

History

The One World Nation was founded after the Posthuman Revoultion overtook the defunct-Akaia Republic by then CEO Paul Gardner of the MINDBIRTH Corporation. Paul Gardner then declared himself to be "World Controller" of the new nation of One World Nation. A nation that seeks to spread the glory of Posthuman development to the entire universe and to unite the universe under a single government system (OWN of course). The early years of OWN were of restructuring society to the new standards of the new Posthuman standard, everyone is equal in One World Nation, everyone shall have happiness in One World Nation, everyone shall have perfection in One World Nation, and everyone shall have perfect knowledge. These are the guiding principals of the One World Nation or OWN and this was how Paul Gardner designed his new nation.

Paul rewared his most loyal revolutionaries with government positions and jobs within OWN, as a result what was born was the Oligarch Class with each Family in control of a single government office which are all under the command of the Gardner Family and the World Controller. Each Emirate Controller was appointed by the World Controller from the various Families and as a result there is a lot of political infighting between the Families but none have dared to challenge the absolute power of the Gardner Family since the Gardner's have maintained total control of the Office of Posthuman Upgrade and the right to continual Upgrade has been the Gardner's main weapon to maintaining control over the One World Nation and the lower Classes of the nation.

Paul Gardner had three children grown from his seed in the very first Baby-Tank and when the children became much older Paul chose his middle child Sarah to be his Heir-Apparent in case anything happened to incapacitate him. But sadly this "Last Resort" plan as Paul refered to it became needed when in the year 2057 the MINDNET suffered from a severe malfunction that killed over a million Posthumans, one of them was Paul Gardner.

Sarah Gardner took over the office of World Controller and appointed Ptah Gardner to be Head of the Office of Watchdogs and Paris Gardner to Head of the Office of Information. Sarah Gardner is attempting to establish diplomatic relations with other nations, something her father shunned to do. OWN is in a state of flux, when a breath could change the course of the Posthuman race for hundreds of years.
