Overview
Orion was an asteroid in a high Martian orbit, 150,000km above the planet. It was placed in the orbit by New Haven, and was used as a military base by the nation. Because of it's size, defensability, and strategic location, Orion was New Haven's largest military/shipyard installation and orbital colony in Sol, up until its disabling and subsequent capture by Kajali and Osage forces.
Orion was accompanied in it's orbit by Bryn Shander's asteroid base Mathilde at it's L3 point, though The Osage have since moved the asteroid.
Trade
In addition to being a military hub, Orion would have been New Haven's primary economic hub in the Mars system, with a projected 75% of the nation's Martian trade passing through the asteroid after construction was complete.
