The Sardaukar Confederacy, loose confederation of allied states, is the fourth province of the Meritocracy. It has been founded by Senator Dwight Pavlovic from Sarda.

The daily affairs of the Confederacy are run smoothly by Sarda's long held second in command, Hidlberg, a judicious and intelligent leader, to whom much of the region's success can be credited. Template:Merit:Infobox Province

History

The Sardaukar Confederacy has been founded in early July of 2003, with the intention of building up a region that could safely interact in NationStates politics and allow nations to enjoy a position in a region built up on the principles of confederation and easy self rule. Under these principles, in less than a month the Sardaukar Confederacy grew to include at its peak, 243 nations. As a result of the relaxed government and membership interaction that number dwindled over the next two to three months to around 100. After a few more weeks, it stabilized at the current level.

During the times of rapid growth the Sardaukar Confederacy successfully defended smaller regions, and most notably halted the formation of a nazi regional alliance in its infancy, preventing the invasion of another region in the process. The Sardaukar Confederacy also operated as a member of the Alliance Defense Network.

The only real threat ever presented to the Confederacy's safety was the Atlantic Alliance, which tried to invade the region twice, each time unsuccessfully.

In March 13, 2004, the Confederacy has applied for provincial status in the Meritocracy. It has been approved as of March 23, 2004.
