The Nation

The United States of Schnabo is a very large, devout nation, remarkable for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 141 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Social Welfare, and Education. The average income tax rate is 54%, and even higher for the wealthy. A healthy private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing industry, followed by Woodchip Exports and Arms Manufacturing.

A niche industry catering to S&M enthusiasts has sprung up, citizens are encouraged to report friends, family members or co-workers who seem depressed to the government for "counselling", birds and children's kites are regularly brought down by anti-aircraft fire, and truth is often impossible to tell from fiction on the evening news. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Schnabo's national animal is the Schnaboon, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Schnab.

The main languages in Schnabo is Schnan, a language spoken by approx 136 millon people, and English, which is spoken by the whole population exept some areas in the east. Schnan is also more common in the east than in the west. The most common religions is Christianity (Catholism) and Schnaboism.

The national day is Nov 22, the day of the nations founding.

The main broadcaster in USSB is SBRC, Schnabo Broadcasting and Radio Center. SBRC has 3 TV-channels and 4 radio channels. The TV-channels broadcast all-day-round with many different programs. SBRC 1 sends more news, while SBRC 2 and 3 sends more entertainment and movies. Each state has their own news which broadcasts every day at 8 am, 1 pm, 6 pm and 11 pm on SBRC 1. There is not only SBRC channels, there are also 4 more networks, SNB (Simtropolis News Broadcasting, broadcasting news from all over Simtropolis), STV (SchnaboTV, entertainment channel), FEC (Free Entertainment Channel, broadcaster of the
show "Bigtopians say the darnest things", which has been criticised for the racist content) and USSC (United States of Schnabo Channel, broadcasts everything from sitcoms and movies to news and reports).

USSB is located north in the Simtropolis region. The land is pretty big and our neighbours are Simtropolia and Rocheffer. United States of Schnabo containes 21 states spread acrossed the country. Some of them are:
