The Anarchist Communes of Segasaturn - Introduction

The Anarchist Communes of Segasaturn are a federation of Communes (Communities) which are unified by the Constitution of the Anarchist Communes.

The People directly rule through the Worker's Councils, Soviets and the Popular Assemblies - which are based on a Anti-Hierarchial, Bottom-up structure. The Communes are Defended and peace is mantained in them by Local Worker's Militias - which are also organized by Anti-Authoritarian Defense committees.

The Economy of Segasaturn is a Anarchist Economy, which does not need money to function - but the cooperation of all communes and mutual aid. This means that things would be distributed, provided, and given on the basis of need and use, not on profit and sale. Things are produced, distributed, given, and provided by anti-authoritarian, directly-democratic Worker's Collectives.

Georgraphic Areas

Segasaturn has three main geographical areas:

1.The Segasaturnian Alps

The Segasaturnian Alps contain the highest mountains in the world, although

it only consists of 20% of Segasaturn's land mass. The Mountains can be seen

from every part of segasaturn except it's extreme southern parts.

2.The Segasaturnian Coastal Plain

The Segasaturnian Coastal Plain is the largest geographical area in Segasaturn,

making up more than 50% of Segasaturn's land mass. It also holds the majority of

Segasaturn's population.

3.The Western Saturnian Lowlands

The Western Saturnian Lowlands make up over 29% of the Anarchist Communes

Landmass. It contains the industrial center of Segasaturn - New Harlem

Commune and it also contains Segasaturn's main arigcultural commune -

Sparta Commune.

Religion?

There is no primary religion in Segasaturn as 98% of the Population are Atheistic or Agnostic. However - there is a small popluation of Buddhists residing in Southern Segasaturn.

Climate

Segasaturn is unusually Hot for most of the year (March-November) especially in the Segasaturnian Coastal Plain and the Western Saturnian Lowlands. However, thanks it's very high elevation, the Segasaturnian Alps is cold year-round.

People

The Segasaturnian People are made up of mostly Germano-Afro-Japanese Descent, with 20% of the Popluation from other nieghboring countries.

History

The settling of the Germanic Saturnian Tribes (Late 1000's - 1237)

During the late 1000's, a group of Germanic tribes coming from the western part of the continent invaded the area they called Saturnia (this is today the countries of New Ronin, Segasaturn and East Georgia and their immediate neighbors). They eventually settled the area and developed their own culture. The language of Segasaturn (or Saturnia as the Germanic tribes called it) in this period was a German dialect. By 1150, the five main tribes developed their lands into five main kingdoms (Manxia-Nöern, Wiess, Ost-Saturnia, Välereden and Hollenheim).

The Kingdom of Segasaturnia (1237 - 1884)

Then in 1195, the King of Ost-Saturnia began wars of expansion - taking over Hollenheim and Wiess in 1200. Then his son launched a similar expansion - taking over Välereden and Manxia-Nöern in early 1237. He was crowned King of Segasaturnia later that year. He changed the name of his country because he wanted to unite it as one under a new name.

He and his descendents began to embark on a conquest which lead to the Kingdom possessing more than 60% of The Continent's eastern, southern and central parts. It stayed this way until 1478, when the peoples of the continent's central part broke away and formed their own kingdom. This happened again in 1496 when the southwestern part of the kingdom won it's independence after a major battle.

This became the turning point in Segasaturnian History - this is what led to the Kingdom's decline, although it took another 400 years for it to finally fall and come under colonial control.

The Colonialization and industrialization of Segasaturn (1884 - 1925)

In 1884, an invasion force from France took over the kingdom - ending it's 700-year existence. Thenafter, it renamed Segasaturnia the Colony of Segasaturn and imposed a industrialization program which led to the construction of railroads, the modernization of cities, and the implementation of telegraph and telephone lines allowing for greater communication between cities and towns. Because of the small labor force in Segasaturn, France began to allow the immigration of People of Dutch and Japanese descent, People of German Descent from German-speaking nations, people of European and African Descent from English and French-speaking Colonies and nations, to build a skilled labor force in Segasaturn. eventually, they intermarried - which France incouraged- and formed a new Segasaturnian people with their own diversified culture and their own unique traditions.

The Segasaturnian Independence Movement (1925-1978)

In 1925, the People of Segasaturn began to demand more democratic representation in the colonial directory. When France refused, a general strike was called in the streets of the cities, Particularly New Harlem, and Saturn City, where the amount of striking workers were the highest. Because of the Segasaturnian Worker's General strike, the colonial directory gave in to some of the demands - but it did not help to improve the material conditions of the Industralized Colony of Segasaturn - in which 40% of the people were un-employed working class men and women.

This led to the explosion of anti-french and anti-colonial dissent and the birth of a movement that wanted Segasaturnian Independence; the Segasaturnian Worker's Movement - which aimed to liberate Industrial Segasaturn from french colonial rule and to estabilish a Anarcho-Syndicalist society, was established. it was at it's peak during the Great Depression - which effected Segasaturn worse than it did France.

During World War II - the Independence Movement declined due into increased participation in the war. After the war was over, Many upper-class right-wingers got involved with the Pro-Independence Movement and established the Segasaturnian Democratic Party (Segacratic Party) in 1950 to gain the independence of Segasaturn by means of which the rich upper-class could agree with and to establish a Capitalist Segasaturn. Their headquarters in Ronin City became the center of the entire independence movement, with people gathering in coffee shops and stores throughout the city to discuss the possibility of Segasaturnian Independence. It also became a center of the re-vived Worker's Movement - still keeping true to the ideals of Anarcho-Syndicalism.

Then in 1958 - France announced that it will hold a referendum in 1964 to see if Segasaturn really wanted independence - if it did - France would give it to them. if they did not - they will remain a colony of France. But of Course France wanted to keep Segasaturn because it had more massive heavy industry than France itself - which would make a independent Segasaturn a world economic power. France needed to exploit with the rich upper-class of Segasaturn to keep everyone in line, so they decided to rig the referredum when it was held in 1964 - to make it seem that the Segasaturnian people did'nt want independence - but the truth was that there was a overwhelming vote for independence - but the votes were never counted.

This had a demoralizing effect among supporters of the Segacratic Party. It chased many of them into hands of the Segasaturnian Worker's Movement - which immediately overshadowed the Segacratic Par
