Overview
- The Republic of Sereyn, located in the Government region, is a huge, devout nation, remarkable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of over 200 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.
- The large government juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Welfare, and Religion & Spirituality. The average income tax rate is 20%. A robust private sector is led by the Gambling, Arms Manufacturing, and Soda Sales industries.
- Referenda can be called for any law at the request of at least one third of the voting population, schools have extensive counseling programs for troubled students, the government's new 'Crime Can Fight Itself' policy appears to be backfiring rather badly, and abortion is only legal in unusual circumstances. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is moderate, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Sereyn's national animal is the penguin and its currency is the Ser.
- Sereyn hosts a monthly volleyball tournament on the Government forums. The January volleyball league winner was Sajlamot with 4 wins, a tie, and a loss.
- The ruler of Sereyn is the Chief Justice of Government, Government's Foreign Affairs Minister, the "Mayor of Spamville", and the "King of the Spamville Round Table", as well as the top poster of the Government forums.
