It was built over the course of seven years from 1995 to 2002. It was not slated to be done till 2006 though, the reason for this strange occurance is quite a story. From 1995 to 2000 it went at a slow pace of about 18 floors a year (because of the large area each floor is, 16 acres all the way up) putting the tower at 90 floors, luckily for the city the company of [[Smith & Deiters]], whom financed the project discoverd technology that could make a light but strong steel, using this they created an almost creature like machine that could crawl up the side of the building and construct the building almost itself, using this technology the final 110 floors were built in just under two years. It was filled up almost over night because of the great campagining by Smith & Deiters.

Pourpose

The reason for this collosal structure was to creat a trade center if you will, of companies from around the world, that would get together to do business, they achieved this goal.

Innovations

Aside from the crawler, there were many new additions used in the construction of this building that would make its being possible.

Elevators

The elevators themselves are unique in that after the door closes it pressurized and as the car speeds at speed up to 4 floors per second or 32 mph. This is capable through the use of electromagnets, and the pressurizing aspect leaves the rider in confort without his ears over-popping, then as the car reaches the level the rider wants the car levels off slowly to the pressure of that level.

Elevator Shafts

Another reason that the cars can travel so fast is because the shaft of the elevator is really no longer a shaft, it is now a tube. The vacuum tubes pull all of the air out so that there is no air resistance. And whenever the car comes to a stop the doors slide over into a padded chamber more of less and it becomes sealed from the chamber, and since the walls of both the tube and of the car are made from the new stronger steel used in the crawler there is almost no risk of them puncturing, we have even blast tested the.
