South Irondin is a break-away republic that recently declared itself independent of Irondin. Governed by a radical communist junta, South Irondin has, in its short existence, effectively become a pariah nation, and has quickly earned the enmity of both Roach-Busters and Holy Paradise (both of which staunchly back Marshal Shaun Churchman's efforts to re-unite the North and South). South Irondin declares that it is solely interested in negotiating a peaceful settlement and gaining international recognition. Marshal Churchman insists that South Irondin is an integral part of Irondin, and that the two nations should be re-united, regardless of the cost. Instransigence on both sides has helped fuel and intensify an on-going, devastating civil war.
