Spooty (Dutch: Saartie) is a small coastal nation on the East side of Lajito (Dutch: Laginaar) it borders a thin strip of the Socialist Freemen Desert (Dutch: Woetijn Desert) to the West, the Mountains of Knights (Dutch: Ridderberg) To the South, the Sea of Razgriz (Dutch: Razastiz Zee) to the North and the Abascalanian Straight (Dutch: Abbaskellix Straat) to the East
History
During the Bronze age the area now known as Saartie held the one of the earliest advanced civilisations in Lajito formed out of the ancient tribes of Aetio and Mynocea there merged several city states each operating under their own laws and customs, uniting under the city of Aetio to fight off the Phirxians and later occasdionally fighting amongst themselves during the Aetion Peninsula wars.
These ended within a century when the nation was reunited under Alexander Di Lajismus who truly began the Aetistic era by uniting the various tribes to the south and conquering the lands of Abaskellix and Perllix which later slowly collpased over time.
Although the collapse of the empire did hamper civilisation it did not bring about the end of political independence, Aetio still existed as several loosly affiliated city states in the eastern Aetion peninsula and a small holding in the Skellix Peninsula, this new system brought about a golden age in Aetio who experienced fluctuating wealth and succeeded in patriotising new lands, This continued until the fall of mainland Aetio to Barbarians and left only the offshore city state of Saartie trapped in the Abaskellix Peninsula
During the dark ages Saartie remained a center of learning and piety in the world converting dozens to Catholocism and performing repeated crusades to liberate the homeland only succeding in the early 1200's PDU under the rule of Duke Grekimida Kolos (later renamed Alexander Saartie) who aligned himself with the pre-ruling kingdoms of Ostend, Albrecht, Kediz and Sanders to form a tightly aligned coalition of Duchies.

Provinces
As mentioned Saartie is seperated into four provinces, each representing the four houses of the Knights of Saartie, each one was an area laid claim by the Knights of Saartie when the land was taken and granted to the Nobility.
Saartiestad
The Capitol of Spooty, containing the Capitol city Saartiestad but not by actually itself a city province, simply a province containing the city, Saartiestad is caught between the provinces of Ostend and Albrecht and is notable for its beer and vast rural landscapes which have borne some of the greatest Spootian artists and Scholars.
Ostend
The largest province of Saartie, as was claimed by Lord Ostend when he led the magnificent attack on this area, reknowned for its large military prowess and a distinct dislike for Albrechters (dating back to Medieval days) it was here that the Swashbuckling tradition began as weapons in Ostend were at that point legal, the cpitol of Ostend is the titular City of Ostend which houses De Wachtherenhaus, the military command for Saartie.
Albrecht
Albrecht is a semi large province to the West, it has long been associated with its piousness and a distinct dislike for Ostenders (dating back to Medieval times) Albrecht has a rich farming community which was formerly helped by the Church until the outlawing of religion, nowerdays it is assisted by the Goverment, landmarks include De Albrecht Cathedral in Albrecht which claims to have healing powers and is a popular site for Pilgrims everywhere.
Sanders
The smallest and least important of provinces, Sanders was once a rich and prosperous nation until Saartie IV claimed throne over all of the provinces, Sanders put up a grand resistence, alligning itself with the then powerless Albrecht, Albrecht was bought over by Saartie with promises of power and betrayed Sanders whose kingdom collapsed overnight into a small county in the desert, Sanders still enjoys tourism from nearby Socialist Freemen as a site of Monarchist oppression being beaten back.
