The Community of St. Stephen 'n' Critters is a small insular nation, circumscribed and detached in outlook and experience; some would even say narrow and provincial. The government grants its people the freedom to do basically whatever they like, especially when they're nude. The government devotes most of its attention to social welfare, with areas such as law & order and defence receiving almost no funds by comparison. Entheotourism is the backbone of the nation's economy and receives its proper share of attention in the government's planning, whereas the private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising teenagers selling dosed Kool-Aid™ on the sidewalk. All industry is owned and run by the government and all recreational drugs are legal. The national animal is the Dancing Bear (Ursus saltatus), which is a protected species.

Official languages: Deadhead English, Latin, Braille, Smalltalk and Flow-Matic.

Government: A general assembly of randomly selected citizens, but the GA seldom makes any decisions. Instead, most decisions are made at community level through small-scale actions advertised in newsletters.

Legislative power: The people are given the right to pass laws, veto laws and withdraw support from a representative (if one can be found) at any time. A binding referendum may be held if needed.

Religious Leader: Each individual has the right or freedom to hold whatever religious beliefs he or she wishes, or none at all, but new age guru Brother Bee Dee Bee Dee Caw Caw Guy-A has many followers.
