Suuropolis is a moderately sized, peninsular country located in the Southern quarter of Utz Continent, bordered to the north by Bijou Terrace, exclusively. As the founder nation of the Greco Anglican Majority of Utz, economically voracious, and burgeoning in regards to population despite it's average size, Suurnese delegates hold a great deal of power over continental and GAMU affairs.

Territorial Divisions

Suuropolis is divided into six, semi-autonomous territories: Guini (Center East), Haciinth (Extreme Northwest), Iliac (Extreme Northeast), Itsele (Southeast), the Madison Rockworks (West-Southwest), and the Miranda Highlands (Center North)

Divisions by population: Madison Rockworks( about 750 million), Miranda Highlands(about 450 million), Guini (about 350 million), Itsele (about 200 million), Haciinth (about 175 million), Iliac (about 75 million)

Government

Suuropolis is designated by the United Nations as a "Civil Rights Lovefest", although some of the Suurnese take umbrage at the liberal connotation of the classification.

The Suurnese federal government, housed in Anapoi, Itsele, is divided into four interdependent branches: the Administrative, the Executive, the Judicial, and the Legislative.

The Administrative Branch is comprised of three triumvirates that establish the diplomatic, economic, and military policies of the Suurnese government into effect. The triumvirates themselves are referred to as Ministries, and individual members of the triumvirates are referred to as Ministers.

The Diplomatic Ministry is different from its Economic or Military and Territory counterparts in that none of its members are appointed by the Legislature or Exectutives, rather, each Minister is elected by national plebiscite every three years. This system is to ensure the direct, unadulterated will of the people, in regards to feelings toward other nations, is reflected, guaranteeing that Suuropolis is seen in the eyes of the world, just as the Suurnese people want their country to be seen.

The Economic and/or Military and Territory Ministries have one minister elected every three years by national ballot, another appointed by the incoming Minister General and Chief Executive, and another appointed by the Meter Congress of the Legislature.

The Executive Branch is comprised of three people (The Minister General, the Chief Executive, and Executive Minister) and their immediate advisors.

The Minister General is the candidate who recieves the most votes in the national Executive elections held every three years. As a reflection of the majority's will in electing him/her, the Minister General is delegated the most executive power. The powers of the Minister General include:

-Approve any piece of legislation, an appointment by a non-executive body, or a potential budget

-The appointment of seven senators to the Legislature every term

-The appointment of three justices to the High Court every term

-The power to veto any piece of legislation, nominee, or potential budget. The General veto can be overridden by either an approval to do so by the Chief Executive and Executive Minister, or 75% approval to do so by the Legislature

-Choice in the appointment of either an Economic Minister or a Military Minister every term

-Choice in the appointment of an advisory board to coach all governmental branches other than the Judiciary on matters of esoteric or otherwise atypical knowledge

-A multitude of other powers not named

The Chief Executive and the Executive Minister, the recipients of the second and third highest numbers of votes in the nation Executive election held every three years, respectively, are individually subordinate to the Minister General, but, collectively, can override any of the acting Minister General's approvals, nominees, or vetoes.

The Legislative Branch, responsible for the creation of laws, removal of corrupt officials, and matters of governmental, fiscal interest, is a massive parlimentary body composed of five seperate Congresses.

Corner Congress is composed of five representatives from each of the six territories, who are elected by regional plebicite and serve five year terms.

Edge Congress is composed of representatives, who serve three year terms and are elected by regional plebicite, from each of the six territories, the amount of each region's representation depending upon that regions population (roughly 1 representative per 5 million people).

Meter Congress is composed of five representatives, who serve 5 year terms and are elected by partisan plebicite, from each political party with more than 5 million registered members.

Temper Congress is composed of thirty representatives, seven of which are appointed by the incoming Minister General, five of which are appointed by the incoming Chief Executive, three of which are appointed by the incoming Executive Minister, five of which are appointed by the incoming members of the Diplomatic Ministry, five of which are appointed by the incoming members of the Economic Ministry, and five of which are appointed by the incoming members of the Military and Territorial Ministry.

Herring Congress is composed of twenty representatives, elected every four years by national plebicite.
