Early Legend

The early origin of the Tallent remains unknown. Legend says that it was first used on the mythical nation of Aya. After the first Emperor's death, he left all of his estate to his two twin sons to be divided evenly. Among the most prized of his possessions was the Tally Diam, a 50-carat diamond. Finding it more difficult than anticipated to cut, the brothers made a verbal agreement that they each owned half the diamond. One of the brothers used his newfound wealth to establish a village and home for his family; while the other brother, a notorious spendthrift, traveled the island and squandered much of his. After exhausting much of his wealth, the Spendthrift-Brother began issuing promisory notes which he called a Tally-Lent, and said they were redeemable in his brother's village where the Tally Diam was. Soon, people from all across the island nation were coming to the brother's village

Over time, merchants began using the currency in coastal towns on the Tallent Sea and Tallent coins could be found on the continents of Ayash, Aldaron Isles, Neue Kanadia, Perspectif, and Shaharazia. It began to be used more and more by merchants in Brentwood.
