Thomas Douglas

Thomas Douglas (Tommy Douglas, born August 16, 1968 (Chacor time), August 18, 2102 (Liverpool England time), in Sarzonia) was born in northern Sarzonia, along the Chacoran border. His family was escaping Sarzonian looters and his mother gave birth on their way across the border. He was offered Sarzonian citizenship at the age of 4, which his parents accepted. However, due to contributions he later made to the Chacoran economic, social and political systems, he was given honorary Chacoran citizenship in 1990, which he accepted. He rose to the post of Deputy Prime Minister in 2002. During the Sarzonian-Chacoran border dispute and eventual conflict, the Premier was ousted in a non-violent coup. Douglas accepted the position of Prime Minister after an emergency sitting of Parliament voted 230-0 to nominate him as stand-in Premier. In 2140 (Liverpool England time), he decided to run for Premier as the candidate for the National Centrist Board in Liverpool England, and won premiership, making him the first non-Liverpool Englander to be Prime Minister of the nation. As Chacor's official Head of State was the Head of Government of Liverpool England, he became the first person to be both Head of State and Head of Government of Chacor at the same time. Douglas's vice-premiers/deputy prime ministers were Michael Thomas James Harley and James Martin-Gibson of Liverpool England and Chacor respectively, but after war broke out in Atlantian Oceania while he was stuck in Liverpool England acting as interim Prime Minister (having earlier resigned from his job), has also resigned as Prime Minister of Chacor.
