The Eleven Tidani Tribes

The Tidani are divided into eleven tribes each its own subspecies. Of the eleven, six are lesser tribes given that their populations are smaller compared to the larger tribes. The five greater tribes have more power on the Universal Council because of their greater numbers. This usually leads to lesser tribes allying with each other, or with a greater tribe on the Universal Coucil.

Arderial

Arderials, a lesser tribe, live high up in the mountains and mountain valleys. They share their capital of Yark Eyrie with the Kybar tribe, but most of their other settlments are higher up amongst the peaks. Aderials have large powerful wings that make them the only subspecies that can truly fly. Their wings are very important but very vulnerable, that is why when a wing is injured or broken it will heal itself very quickly.

Bograth

Bograthi, a lesser tribe, live mostly isolated existences in the gloomy swamps. Their capital, Clayhill, is one of very few settlements. Bograthi tend to live very simple lives and have a shamanistic culture. They have very little interaction in the government and nation's affairs. This subspecies does not have wings.

Cald

Calders, a lesser tribe, live around volcanicly active regions. Calders are bold, agressive, and hot tempered just like the places they live. Their Capital is Aragonar. The most warlike tribe, the Calders are well versed in most aspects of war and fill this role well in the Kingdom. Calders do not have wings and cannot fly, only short stumps extend from behind the shoulders.

d'Resh

d'Reshi, a lesser tribe, in the vast shifting sands of the desert and salt flats. Their capital is Life Spring. Gathering mostly near oases, they are experts at drilling wells and irrigating. They are a mix between large fertile cities and nomads. They are masters of illusion and mirage, making them valued agents of the Kingdom. d'Reshi are wingless.

Kybar

Kybarites live in the mountains, mountain valleys, and foothills. They share their capital of Yark Eyrie with the Arderials. Like their home, Kybarites grow big and strong. They are stubborn and slow to change, prefering the old ways. They have thick tough hides and some would say just as thick heads. Considered less intelligent by some of the other tribes, this is mostly untrue and Kybarites are not stupid or dumb. Though they are looked down on for their lack of technological creativity, Kybarites are expert masons and architects and show a surprising mechanical ability. Kybarites are wingless.

Narans, a lesser tribe, live in the northern wastelands. Narans have few settlements, their captial is Cyl, and are mostly nomadic. Narans have thick wooly coats to protect them from the bitter cold of the tundra. Narans are excellent survivalists, making them skilled explorers for the Kingdom. Narans also have no wings.

Naroomi are the woodland tribe populating Hyr's dense forests. They are the largest and most politically powerful tribe. They build large cities in the tree tops, the biggest being their capital Vash Naroom. Naroomi are diplomats, commanders, and studiers of the science of nature. Naroomi do not have wings.

Orothe

Orothean are the only aquatic subspecies of Hyren and live in the oceans of Hyr. They can survive on land as long as they keep their gills wet and their bodies damp. With advanced technology Orotheans can now travel on land safely. The Orothean capital is Oscent Mar. Thousands of years ago the Orotheans left Hyr following a leader promising freedom from the first Core War and to lead them to their promised land. Are intelligent and creative scientists. Orotheans have wings that they use to help them swim and are unable to support their weight out of the water. As with other subspecies, injured wings heal quickly due to their biological importance.

Paradwyn

Paradan dwell in the deep rainforest jungles. Their capital is Sacred Basin, one of many settlements throughout the jungle. Paradan are very fast and agile like the jungle cats of their home, they make excellent scouts and spys. They have brightly colored feathery wings that they can use to help them glide from tree to tree or from vines. Their wings also heal quickly because of their importance.

Underneath

Underneathers, a lesser tribe, lives deep in the caves of the mountain ranges. This subspecies is furry and has large clawed paws they used expertly for digging. They dig massive tunnel systems connecting huge chambers carved out of the earth. The largest of these is Ombor, the Underneathers' capital. Underneathers are the Kingdom's miners. Underneathers do not have wings.

Weave

Weavers, the second largest tribe, harvest the bounty of the fertile grasslands. Their capital is Qui Yeteh. Weavers have long flowing hair-like scales that wrap around them and blow in the wind. Weavers are the farmers and police of the Kingdom. Weavers do not have wings.

Government

The tribes share power by determining action as a whole through a council of leaders of each tribe. At least eight of the eleven elders must be in agreement to pass and resolutions.

The Monarch

Monarch was the greatest leader in Hyren history. Not born of any tribe, know one knows where Monarch came from, but he arrived in Hyr's time of need and united the tribes on the eve of what could have errupted into never ending tribe wars. Monarch has two heads, one is dominant and the other is resessive. The dominant head is a master diplomat, mediator, and alliance builder. The resessive head is very quiet and calculating, it is rumored that it has the ability to see into the future. As mysterious as his past is his long life, Monarch has been the leader of the Universal Council for over one thousand years and his true age is not known.

The Universal Council

The Universal Council rules Hyr. Sitting on the council are the elder leaders of each tribe.

Language

The Tidani languages are very unique from tribe to tribe, and very difficult to learn. Their range of vocalization is very limited, thus to communicate with other species they employ a form of telepathic thought projection. This essentially transmits a message they want to convey into the target's mind which generally manifests itself in the target's native language. They cannot read minds, the telepathic ability exists only as a form of speach which they can effect the range of the transmission much like controlling volume. They are capable of transmitting directly to one other individual much like whispering but regardless of distance the transmission will only be overheard by the intended individual target.

The capital of Tidan is Navguard (Aquila). Other major cities include Rhoaltar (Aquila).

Security

Security has been the cornerstone of Tidani society since its founding. Information on the equipment used by the Tidani Star Fleets.

Tidani Navy

The Tidani Navy is responsible for Tidan's sovereignty. This national force is under the authority of the Minister of Defence. Under its command are the Air Command, Marine Command, Maritime Command, and Fleet Command. The Navy is a priority for Tidan and receive the second most funding. They are kept equiped with state-of-the-art equipment and receive world class training. All citizens are required to serve in the Navy for at least two years, in the branch of their choosing. If demand is too uneven the recruits will be spread around. In the event that citizens are unable to serve, they are encouraged to serve in logistics. Manditory service bolsters the Navy, enstils pride and patriotism, and teaches descipline.

Tidani Marines

The Tidani Marines are the infantry forces of the Kingdom. Under the command of Marine Command, a division of the Navy, the marines are responsible for 'ground' actions on land, under water, and in space. The Marines include many different classes and wield many different weapons to respond to a variety of threats.

The Guardians

The Guardians are the national police force of Tidan. These special forces officers are put through military training, equipped with advanced body armor, helmets, shields, and carry both lethal and non-lethal weaponry. Their specialties include urban combat, riot control, narcotic enforcement, and combatting organized crime. The Guardians are under the command of The Universal Council and are charged with enforcing national law, embassy protection, emergency assistance, as well as international security efforts. Currently the Guardians are engaged in a war against the growing underground organized crime and drug trade.

The Adept Service

The Adepts are Tidan's secret service, and intelligence agency. The Adepts are secretive and independent, reporting directly to the Universal Council. Other departments, especially the navy, resent the Adepts because of the regularity with which agents appear within their ranks. The Adept Service's mandate is to keep the political and military leadership informed of everything going on internally and externally, perform clandestined actions of the government, and to keep the government accountable. Fanatical devotion to these goals is instilled in the service, they see themselves and the knowledge they gather as the true power of the people of Tidan.

Industry

Corporations

Ti-Tech Industries is Tidan's Information Technology, Robotics, Aerospace, and Arms Manufacturing giant. Ti-Tech is the largest and most important corporation in Tidan.

Biogen genetically engineers bacteria for many different uses in Tidan's underwater cities. Biogen's successful creations include bacteria for lighting, oxygen manufacturing, biological weapons and weapon enhancers, and heating. Biogen has also been working on creating terraforming bacterium.

TNN The Tidani News Network is the official news channel of Tidan. The state uses it directly to release information to the public, but measures have been taken to ensure TNN's independence and neutrality.
