UFR Regional War One
The First Regional War in the United Free Republics.
The catalysts...After a country left the United Free Republics, Bostopia took back part of the Arbad Islands it had lost after a war with Vladmiristak. Vladmiristak then gave part of the Arbad Islands to Autumno.
After Bostopia send troops to the islands, Vladmiristak responded by sending in more troops. Bostopia replied with the same, and many nations within the UFR were becoming worried with the prospect of war between the two superpowers.
However, en-route to the West Arbad Isles (the east half was still Vladmiristaki owned), an Adorosian fighter was alledged to have shot down a newly built Bostopian troop transporter helicopter (A new design, with 3 rotors so it could carry more troops). 50 soldiers and two crew were killed.
At the military funeral, Emperor Boston demanded an apology off Adoros, which was quickly backed up by Bostopia's ally, Chikoo.
Adoros responded with this message. 'Apologise, for what?? My people did nothing wrong. Your helicopter entered my air space without clearance and refused to answer transmissions we sent to it so that it would change course. As it became clear it would not do so we were left with no option but to shoot it down and save my people.'
Bostopia's leader, Emperor Boston then appeared on regional television stating that Bostopia had no choice but to declare war on Adoros for this outrage.
Outer Sygon declared that they would help Bostopia as a Free Isles Defense Alliance member. Bostopia then made an announcement stating that 1000 Vladmiristaki aid workers would not be released, promting an outcry from Vladmiristak, and it's leader, Dr.Vlad, who sent troops to Adoros to fight Bostopia.
Deweyland, another Communist country in the UFR gave Vladmiristak it's support, and military backing.
By this point, Bostopia had made a beachhead in Adoros, and took the town of Ventelsbirth, the birthplace of Adoros' fabled beast, Ventel. Bostopian watchposts on the Arbad Islands then saw a Vladmiristaki fleet heading toward Adoros.
Bostopia called a meeting with it's FIDA allies, who pledged their full support seeing as another nation was getting involved. (FIDA was set up to defend the capitalist nations against Communist ones)
Fort Boston was badly hit in an air-raid, and Fort Boston Castle, the official residence of the Emperor was badly damaged, with many suspecting he was killed.
Deweyland pulled out of the war, stating Adoros had dug itself too deep a hole to be rescued out of. This was merely seen as cowardice on Deweyland's behalf.
After this, Vladmiristak called for peace, due to 'elections' at home tarnishing his reputation.
Bostopia accepted the terms of cease-fire, due for 72 hours time, but still pulled it's troops out early, calling on it's allies to do the same.
Bostopia was later allowed to erect a monument to Bostopian soliders killed at Ventelsbirth, and allowed Adoros a monument in Fort Boston's War Memorial Park.
Bostopia then managed to get one over Vladmiristak by revealing a microdot in a previous peace-treaty, stating that if Bostopia and Vladmiristak were to goto war again, and no Bostopian or Vladmiristaki land was taken, with Vladmiristak proposing peace, then Bostopia could take half the Arbad Capital Isle, and half of the capital city, with the rest remaining Vladmiristaki.
