The Empire Of Cymryroma
The Empire Of Cymryroma consists of a main island 205 miles in length and 98 miles in width and 15 smaller islands. The largest island is Mona which is 25 miles in breadth and 19 in length, it's fertile cornfields feed most of Cymry as the northern and western part of the hilly mainland is fairly unfertile and used mainly for livestock farming. Cymryroma was once part of the Roman Empire and was a province called 'Insular Brittiania' The country is heavily steeped in it's Roman past and has retained large amounts of the Roman political system. The political system is based on the Emperor (Imperator) and the Senate. On Emperor's death it is usually the eldest son who ascends to the throne, however if the Emperor is childless or his son is unfit for office, adoption of a more suitable candidate is used. The Senate is comprised of representatives from the 15 islands and the 15 small provinces of the mainland. The Senators are elected by the 23% of Cymry men who are land owners. In addition to this the Male Plebians elect 2 Censors who have power of veto over all Senate legislation. Women have no voting rights. All legislation has to be approved by The Emperor Quintinus Hancock, who also holds the Position of Pontifex Maximus (Head of the Neo-Celtic church) and Treasurer for life.
The capital of Cymryroma is St Davids (pop 27,045), a very small city in the West of the mainland. It is the traditional centre of the Celtic Church established in the 2nd Century and is a university city with a large student population. Although the Senate is based in St Davids the government administrative buildings are located in Caer (pop 758,464) which is located in the East of the mainland and is also the location of the Emperors residence the Flavian Palace.

Population
Overview
The population is approximately 6 million. The people are a mix between Dark Haired Iberians who have genetic similarities to The Hibernians and the Basques and 'Celtic' fairer haired invaders who migrated from mainland Europe approx. 1000 B.C. It is thought that the Roman soldiers who were garrisoned in Caer (Roman: Devita) and Caerleon (Roman: Isca) had signifigant admixture with the local population.
Language
The native language Cymraeg is part of the Brython family closely related to the languages of the Western part of Great Britannia such as Welsh and Cornish as well as Breton. It has a significant amount of borrowings from Latin such as "Eglwys" dervied from ecclesia (church) and Pont meaning bridge. English, the language of Great Britannia which was de facto overlord of Cymry from the 17th to the 20th century is widely used and upto 67% of the population are Bilingual. A large amount of immigration from Great Britannia in the 19th century to work on the coalfields of South Cymry has led to a significant minority of monoglot English speakers. the language used in all official business is Latin and it is widely used in the Scientific community.
Overseas Territories
The Islands Of Australis Inferior (pop. 37,964) are located in the South Atlantic. They are located only 1560 miles from the Antartic Circle with a fairly hostile climate and were therefore used mainly as naval bases prior to the 1950's. The discovery of large deposits of oil and gas underneath the sea has increased both the islands value and population in the last 20 years.
