Custom infoboxes

When using a template, you need to leave all the fields intact. If you take the "map= |" out of the template, you get the default name for that template. If you leave it in and leave it blank, you get white space. Just put map= | back into the infobox area, and you'll get the effect you seek.

I noticed you are trying to adapt the Generic Infobox. If you'd prefer to make your own tables based on the standard templates for Nations and Regions, you can find the code at Template:Infobox Nation and Template:Infobox Region. You can't edit them there, but you can copy the code and put it on your own pages, then make all the modifications you want. → Fris Θtalk 14:48, 23 Nov 2004 (GMT)

Could you help with our nation pages then?"

If you want me to wipe everything there and start over with a standard infobox, sure. Otherwise, not really. It's your nation(s) - you need to figure out what you want it to say.

Also, please don't erase my User:Talk page, I'll handle that myself. I removed the bit about Province Name on your page because you took care of the move, but what you removed was an ongoing conversation. It's a bit rude in terms of NSwiki:etiquette. → Fris Θtalk 14:42, 3 Dec 2004 (GMT)

GCON banner

Goobergunch and I agree - the GCON banner is inappropriate for an encyclopedia entry. We've removed it from any pages we could find. Your GCON flag is also larger than most standard flags, and we'd appreciate it if you could come up with one that is 300 pixels wide by 200 high (or less), that being the defacto standard of NS. While I was looking for banners, I came across several articles that linked every appearance of things like GCON and Tyrantis. Only the first appearance of the word should be linked. Half a dozen times in a paragraph just looks sloppy. I cleaned 'em up when I saw them, but you might want to glance at the Style guide and some of the other help pages again. → Fris Θtalk 20:36, 3 Dec 2004 (GMT)

Did you not read this before? The GCON banner will be removed anytime you add it, so stop wasting my time by continuing to slip it in. Continue this activity and we will consider it vandalism and block your acocunts. → Fris Θtalk 14:31, 9 Dec 2004 (GMT)

Category:Weapons

I have removed this category from your Sword of Valor twice now, and I'm about to do it again. Please see NSwiki:Village pump for the ongoing discussion on creating new categories. I'll summarize - "Don't". You can put them in your factbook, and you can conceivably add them to Category:Hardware, but please don't add Category:Weapons again. We've been over this and over this, and we're not turning NSwiki into a huge database of all the different weapons of the world. → Fris Θtalk 14:25, 9 Dec 2004 (GMT)

Apparently you weren't the one I told about this before. I'm sorry I can't tell the difference between you and Pyrus and Tyrantis - you all work on the same pages in exactly the same way, so it's hard to remember who got which messages. All three of you tend to over-categorize your stuff, and I'd appreciate it if you'd mention that around. Most everyone else is content sticking all their articles in one factbook plus maybe one regular wiki category, but I've seen GCON pages with 5 and 6 categories. Would you mind just sticking with factbooks for the most part, please? Adding all these categories amounts to spamming the wiki. → Fris Θtalk 14:49, 9 Dec 2004 (GMT)

Colors of the Population infobox

Greetings, Kontrosena.

Your choice of infobox colors in the Population article makes it very difficult to read - there is not enough contrast between the black infobox and the gray, red, and blue letters, compared to the contrast between the infobox and the rest of the page. I'd suggest to rather use dark letters on a light background, and to use more contrasting colors. -- Wilem Engelking 15:39, 9 Dec 2004 (GMT)
