Thanks for the nomination

Just thought I should drop by and say thanks for your nomination of my article for a featured article. I hoped it would be good when I wrote it, but I wasn't really expecting such praise. Thanks :)

By the way, incase you hadn't checked recently, I've updated it a little, so it conforms more with Fris' ideas of a good article (more information, less boxes and less copy and paste, basically). Feel free to let me know what you think, supposing you have any comments. I may be writing the article myself, but I actively encourage advise from others as to how to improve it or what to add....

Thanks again.... -- Falastur 20:31, 3 Nov 2004 (GMT)

Hi! I think you are doing great work on NSwiki so far. However I *think* your nick changed at some point... anyway, are you active on IRC by any chance? (#nswiki, specifically.)-- |Knoot|KNOOtalk 11:17, 7 Dec 2004 (GMT)

aaah, I see now. Buddy of Chimaea? Well, pay a visit to #nationstates or #nationstates_general then some time. I'm there a lot too. I'd like to have a talk. :P (Knoot, Maurijn, Galadriel. Prolly one of these nicks.)-- |Knoot|KNOOtalk 11:26, 7 Dec 2004 (GMT)

messages to vandals and idiots

re: User talk:24.214.200.39 - check out the templates page. In such a case, we usually just quietly revert and send Template:Test (unsigned). If they do it again, they get test 2 thru 5. I've used Template:blanking a lot lately when it's obviously not malicious. Be sure to use the {{subst: part - it's handy. Go Sandbox a few of them. → Fris Θtalk 04:15, 9 Dec 2004 (GMT)

Seriously scary code on this page, Rechze. I don't think it will hold up under editing, though. You might want to simplify it a bit, as you've just duplicated stuff that's already on the tabs and such. But that's not why I came here...

On Game time, you've linked RL and NS several times. Per the Style guide, "Do not link every occurrence of a word; simply linking the first time the word appears will usually be enough. For words that appear first in an article and then in a list farther down, it can be linked again in the list." It would be a good idea for you to dig through Category:NS MetaWiki a bit more if you want the sysop job. I think you're well on your way, but take care that you don't overdo it. Also, it looks like you feel the same way about stubs that I do about categories, but have a look at NSwiki:Template_messages#Stubs before you go all out and add a bunch more, wouldja? Thanks. → Fris Θtalk 00:24, 10 Dec 2004 (GMT)

On Stubs: To clarify, I happen to think that an infobox and WFE is adequate content for a Region page. For some regions, they literally don't have anything else to say. I don't mind having dull region pages in the wiki - it's mainly just a chance for region-mates to connect to each other. Noboby else cares except on the incredibly huge or incredibly active regions.

Also, be aware that several over-zealous region members added every nation page in their region, and we decided that was a Bad Idea. However, it's not worth deleting them, and a stub won't make the nation owner come to the wiki to update the page. Since 99% of the time nobody but the owner knows anything about 99% of nations, adding a nation-stub seems particularly pointless to me. → Fris Θtalk 00:32, 10 Dec 2004 (GMT)
