Verditania

Verditania is an island duchy in the Gulf of Verdi. Its inhabitants are primarily Greek-speaking Pantocratorians, who first settled on the island in the sixteenth century. Although Verditania is a duchy, its Duke, Charles Angelus, is styled the Prince of Verditania, for unknown reasons which predate the common use of the title of duke in Pantocratoria. He is understood to be in every way the equal of a duke, and is not accorded any superior status on account of his peculiar title. Verditania is a very rural duchy, whose population largely supports itself through fishing and goatherding as the inhabitants of the island have done for centuries. The population is largely Greek Orthodox, and the Archbishop of Verditania is one of Pantocratoria's senior Orthodox clergymen, being a member of the Synod of Constantinople. Verditania's five Members of Parliament are all members of the Constantinople Party.
