Vimesbairn

Vimesbairn is the capital of Cockbill Street, with an estimated population of 28 million. It consists of several large conurbations that have eventually grown together to form a big city - so big, in fact, that no one really has a clue how many people live there. However, most of them are avid football fans, whether they've grown up beside the clacks towers showing the results or at the stadium watching Vimesbairn United battle it out with Athletic.

The major industries of the town include foraging, basket-weaving and football - the underdeveloped technology of the Street allows little else. However, recently the clacks service has also enjoyed an upswing, and it is expected that it will pass basket-weaving in the next couple of years.

Major cultural events (apart from the sports that go on all the time) include the Llwchchch Festival, with special invited guests from Druida to play the Llwchchch (don't ask), the historical re-enactment of the Battle of Rear Valley between dwarfs and trolls (which no one can remember who won anymore, nor why it was fought), and the Dwarf-Bread Baking Festival, where it is taken in turns to bake special stones into the bread so that it is completely impossible to eat (but good to fend off sharks with at sea)
