The Holy Empire of Vivialduria is a large, economically powerful nation, renowned for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 29 million are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.
The small, corrupt government devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Religion & Spirituality receiving almost no funds by comparison. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 2%. A large private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Soda Sales and Furniture Restoration.
All news sources are under strict government control, historical fiction has been banned, graffiti artists spend lengthy periods of time in jail, and long arduous trials are held for the most trivial of offences. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Vivialduria's national animal is the haralds pet, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Bottle of Coke.
