Overview

Wintrees is located in the region of The Golden Hills. It is known for its tropical climate and its chief exports of minerals and defense systems. What is remarkable about Wintrees is that almost all citizens are part of the armed forces in some capacity.

History

Wintrees was founded by a group of ex-Gurkha settlers in 1920, who had been dispatched by Great Britain to colonize the island chain, then thought to be an important for its oil reserves, as well as a natural harbor in the south of the chain which was great importance to the Royal Navy.

The settlers set up the capitol of Hampcourt on the eastern fringe of the island chain and the town soon became popular with traders, resulting in increased colonization mainly from traders and ex-service men from the commonwealth and beyond. The colony grew to such a large size by the end of World War 2 that it was given its independence in 1949, resulting in 2 nations, Brent and Wintrees, which were quickly merged together to produce a commonwealth.

I recent times, there has been increased friction between the regional governments of Brent and Wintrees, with several large scale uprisings occurring in Brent, some with foreign backing.

Politics

Wintrees shadows the British style of government with all parties being close to the center of the political spectrum. Legislation leans heavily to freedom of trade(whatever the goods) and benefits for ex-servicemen. The countries armed forces also play a large part in government, with several MPs holding ranks in the Wintrees Defense Forces.

Public Services

Public services in wintrees are mostly run by the military, Bus and train drivers etc are all serving members in the military.
