The Federated States of Wrestica is a nation formed out of the remains of several small, upstart micronations. It has grown to become quite financially stable, yet its civil and political freedoms still remain strong. Wrestica's military and police forces are entirely privatized, with a public trust run by the People overseeing bids on law enforcement personnel and equipment.
This is but one example of the trust the government of Wrestica puts in its people to run the nation. In some cases this policy of 'True Democracy' has ironically caused a great deal of dissent, and private feuds are common between large, influential families. Dueling was legalized shortly after two families resorted to undermining businesses employing over four million people each, resulting in massive lay-offs. The wealthy have become notably less powerful ever since, with a death rate amongst the upper classes exceeding several very high-risk demographics.
After being kicked out of the UN early on for an ill-advised joke proposal, citizens have enjoyed many new government programs due to an enourmous tax drop.
