The ECON Free Trade Agreement, or simply ECON, establishes free trade between its member nations through reduction and elimination of barriers to trade and investment. Between the member nations, all tariffs on trade are revoked, and the movement of labor is streamlined.
ECON is one of the Autonomous Regional Organizations within the Meritocracy. The name ECON stands for the Economic Community of Nations.

History
The history of ECON begins with the Aesculapius-Wolfsreich Free Trade Agreement. When Freedomnia joined the Agreement as well, the name was changed to ECON, and the other nations of the Meritocracy were invited to join the Agreement.
Alderman
The leader of ECON is referred to as the Alderman.
The first Alderman was Senator Primero Lucianno from Aesculapius. His immediate successor was Senator Jonas Koroghun from Corintur. The third, and last of the Old Senate Era, was Senator Tiber Skye from Nuclear Industrial.
Member nations
Membership of ECON is open to all residents of the Meritocracy, subject to 2/3 vote of approval by the current member nations. The primary criteria on the acceptance of the applicant nation are the strength of its economy and its dedication to economic freedom.
