The Meritocratic Empire of Corintur is a constitutional monarchy, lead by Emperor Theo Corrino IV from the capital city, the Protectorate of Corrinth. The current second in succession is Anya, Queen of Argyres and brother of the Emperor. The Emperor's regent is taina Jonas Koroghun, former Senator. Corintur is a member of the ECON Free Trade Agreement and a leading advocate for the Milesian Standard Rail Gauge.
The Empire of Corrinth was created on 3 January 2003 and resided in the region Broken Hills for much of its first year in NationStates. In December of 2003 it applied for citizenship in the Meritocracy, and was accepted at the beginning of January 2004. Since its acceptance, Corintur has held the seats of Praetor and Lictor of the Meritocracy, Alderman of the ECON Free Trade Agreement, Governor of the Meritocratic Central Bank, and has had a Praeceptor in the Meritocratic University.
Corintur joined the Accords Senate in December of 2005, and was almost immediately voted to be Praetor.
Since March 2005, the Empire has been divided between royalist and de facto independent provinces, between which there is general peace and free trade. Several corporate entities have taken up the role of government in some southern rogue provinces, while the Empire protects then in exchange for minimal financial and technological support. The Empire maintains control of one of the largest navies in the New Meritocracy, as well as a growing stockpile of EMP weapons and a substantial missile shield.
The Empire is legally allied with Argyres. In the recent wars, Corintur remained neutral while sponsering commerce raiding against the nations of Chronorica and Nuclear Industrial.
